This is a movie continuing an old no ending FCM.On that time,I don't know how many levels are there in this game.So I play it again and draw all maps and find the best route to pick up the diamond. The item and the route are keys of this movie. So I decide to finish the movie even though the jumping system is too bad.

Summary

STAGE 1

No word I want to say.

STAGE 2

Somewhere runing is faster than jump to drop down to pick up the diamond. And there is a diamond that I must run back to rolling the map.

STAGE 3

That I climbing on the tree and no jump for 1 time can control the position of the bird.

STAGE 4

Using the item in the boss battle.

STAGE 5

Waiting the bear.So it cost a lot of time.

STAGE 6

Manipulating the boss's movements, and find the best time to hit it.

STAGE 7

No word.

STAGE 8

Jumping.1 time dropping so that the landing place can appear.

STAGE 9

Rapidly picking up the item for saving time.

STAGE 10

Sometime my life is in danger, but waiting is faster than pick up the health.Using item to hit the boss.
In stage 9 and 10 Somewhere I don't use the running jump but use the up jump to saving the time moving the X-position because when I dropping down I will run back. So running jumping is faster if I will not run back just like level 1.
End this movie.

feos: Added YouTube module.

DarkKobold: Unfortunately, after watching both runs, this game seems like simply an inferior version of the Genesis game. The colors are dull, the bonus scenes drag out, and there isn't much to see in the different versions of the map. Rejecting for bad game choice.

You'e made this long game short. Thanks & Yes.

Wow, x2poet, you've worked very fast lately! I haven't watched this yet, but I should ask: how does this NES game compare to the Genesis Jungle Book? We already have a run on the Genesis game which is much shorter.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. This is an old game and the system is worse than Genesis.Even though they have the same boss, there is a difference in the map. Two games are both hard.I like the Genesis Jungle Book better. This is the one that I Try to complete because I failed to beat the last boss in my childhood. So some people would like to see it I think. One big difference is the mask using.Watch it,and you may find this the key to solve this game. Two games have different game styles. It's different from Aladdin's NES and SNES version.
Do the work.

It's not the most exciting run I have seen, but I see no issues with this one.

I watched this run, and I rewatched the Genesis version. The maps were a little different, but not enough to really feel like different games. The Genesis run seems better in all the important factors: faster pace, less time on bonus screens, no waiting for Baloo the bear, faster boss fights, and better graphics / music. I'm impressed at how well this was made for an NES game, but I just don't see a purpose to publishing this movie on the site alongside the Genesis run. Sorry, x2poet, you've done a great job with this (inferior) game, but I have to vote No.

Actually I like this game a lot more then the Genesis version. Hardcore rules) I think Genesis one is a bit less complicated, thus less interesting. I like the way the author got all the diamonds in that little amount of time, though I also came up with a way to shorten the time spent on 5th level. Me and my friend Razor tested it out and we both proved it possible to cut at least one whole minute and five seconds off. You just need to get hurt by a bird and thus you'll be sent flying higher onto the platform where the monkey is sitting. And voilà! No need for that huge and time-consuming river journey. If the author was to do that improvement, I think it would be just great.

I'd say it's good enough game choise, since the notion on that thing has been softened (see Garfield). It's pretty fast-paced and differs enough from the Genesis version. The colors may be brightened back by patching the ROM. The routes are rather complicated and therefore interesting to see. I'd like the improvement to be applied here and resubmitted. EDIT: according to DK, Metroid and CV should have never been TASed. As I can't see anything making this game look worse. Full maps: http://www.vgmaps.com/Atlas/NES/index.htm#JungleBook

Do you mean that now it's alright for this game to finally have its moment of glory and a TAS? These maps sure look helpful, although I have no idea of who would possibly create a remake of this run, which is pretty good, but still needs a tiny bit of improvement. Man, wish I didn't have a full-time job and a side project to work on. 'cause I have a feeling I might've pulled this TAS off, but I have too little time and too little knowledge about optimization. It's really not my stuff xD I'm good in finding glitches and optimal routes though. And I sure wish the origianl author could make another improved version.

And I actually made my version of this level. I used level-select, so no power-ups for me. As you can see, a few places could've been improved if I had a mask. Link to video
