Contra: Hard Corps is the only game of the Contra series released on the Genesis / Mega Drive console. In this game, you get to choose between four characters, each with different abilities and weapons.
This game has four completely different final stages, each with a different ending, depending on the choices you make earlier.
The Japanese version was chosen because, for some reason, it gives the players a health bar, allowing them to take some damage without dying.
Fang is used due to a glitch that allows him to deliver fully charged D weapon shots, without taking time to charge it.
This time I do the “perfect ending” run. I called this ending “perfect ending”, it’s for some reason. In this route, I found the headquarters. And this is the only route that with no innocent victims. And finally, I get the “good job!”. So I called it this.
In this run, I use Fang, too. The reason is that his D shoot is the strongest weapon.
In stage 2, (lab) I firstly run on the ground. But I found that if I run on the floor, I would save some time. Because when I fell down from the floor. My rate could faster than Down+C on the floor. So I tried this way. The truth is so. I saved about 50 frames!
In stage 6, (boat) the 2nd boss, which is under the water. I took the damage to save time. I went down the boat into water, used D shoot to fight with boss. I use D shoot 2 times. And I took damage 1 time.
In part 1 of stage 7, (In headquarters) I used the same way, such as stage 2. I went on the floor. Saved about 10 fames.
In part 2 of stage 7, (On the rocket) after I beat over Deadeye Joe. I did the beautiful dance! I like it very much!!!
Finally, I beat over the final boss. And I got the “Good Job!”
That’s all.

feos: Encoded in HD.

adelikat: Claiming for judging

I haven't watched it yet but there is something you need to know if you haven't seen the very first 'Secret ending' publication
Truncated: It is obvious that people want to see this published. As such, this is accepted. Then there is the problem of obsoletion and categories. People does not seem to want to obsolete the current movie because they have very different endings. We can not have one movie per ending, 5 movies for one game is too much. My suggestion is to have one movie for the secret ending (this one), and one movie for any of the 4 "real" endings. Whether that should be the shortest path (current published movie) or the "best" ending (with the rocket in the final stage) is left open at this point.
*expects huge disscussion on yeses, mehs, nos followed by a result 5+ days later* If this run does get rejected I request this being linked to the current non-secret ending run in the description, so it's never forgotten.

Greenalink, I haven't watched this either yet, but I also know that there was plenty of support for a "Lab/Fight" run to accompany the currently published "Chase/Surrender" run. (I believe the discussion following adelikat's Chase/Surrender run shows that...) I look forward to seeing this when I have the time.

I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. Voting YES because it's the only ending you get GOOD JOB, it has variety that you don't see in the Chase/Surrender or the Secret Ending runs, and it's well played. GOOD JOB! See you next mission.

I will encode this as HD. Also, is this "best ending" category?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I would definitely consider it such, as you not only defeat the traitor of the game, but it's also the only ending that gives you GOOD JOB! at the end.

All the paths through this game have tons of waiting time while the bosses do invincible animations. That's especially annoying here with the doctor's "creations" when you choose the Fight path. However, it was also pretty funny how quickly the creatures would get destroyed. The last stage's fights were also amazing. I'm voting Yes to have this published alongside our current runs as a Best Ending run. This path shows a sufficient amount of new gameplay. A 4th run would be more repetitive, I believe.

I still just can't get over how much character this game has when compared to the other Contras. o_o Voting yes. Though I must say I'd prefer it if some of the versions used a suboptimal character. I'd probably vote for obsoleting any of the currently published runs (once this gets published, which I think it will), if a well executed submission using a suboptimal character poped up (which I think will probably never happen). Except if the result would clearly be less entertaining.

As for me, I've been dreaming of 2-Player run (made by someone) of CHC.

Hmm just asking but, if this get accepted for having the best ending, it will be added as a 3rd category of CHC and no one did a 2-Player version(which maybe should add a 4th category)but after thinking a bit if someone do a 2P run depending on the route it can just obsolet 1 of the old category right?
My main objective here is to TAS the most obscure games titles!

This game reminds me of Gunstar heroes. Lots of stuff being blown up and a lot of said stuff has multiple segments. There is even a long tunnel fight boss. And it sounds similar too. And the run keeps the tempo high and entertaining. Of course it is a yes vote.

I think Fang is overused in CHC runs. Also I didn't notice any beautiful dances mentioned in submission text. And finally, this game needs 2P run badly. So Meh.

This run shows enough different levels compared to the 2 published movies to warrant its own category. It also achieves a better ending, which is nice. However, it does fail to show the kind of variety this game is capable. We now have 3 1-player Fang only runs. How bland compared to all the possibilities! I'm going to accept this run as a "best ending" category. However, should we get a run that uses 2 players (preferably fangless) I think we should have a discussion about one of these 3 movies getting the boot in favor of one with more character variety.

This category is definitely the most suited for different characters, as it's the longest one anyway (and the only reason for its existence is to show variety bad ending runs lack). So far solo Fang will do, though.

Too bad there isn't a 4-player capable Arcade port or something.

As I don't really know this game too well, I just took a clean and optimized screenshot of the final boss battle. If someone has a better idea, I'd be willing to redo it. The SD and 512kb will be done by the end of the day.

Guys, what was the most tricky place in the movie? The suggested screenshot is kinda ordinary, maybe we can find anything more attracting?

In general, I think you should avoid using the final boss as a screenshot. It is like showing a movie trailer for the ending of a movie. Spoilers!

I agree with both of the above points, but it'd be helpful for some suggestions for this specific movie.
