DarkKobold: Claimed. Also removed branch, since this a TAS site, all runs fall under the TAS branch.

DarkKobold: Welcome, sirstarmagic. I think you misunderstand the intentions of this site. This site is to host the best TASes of individual games, therefore, as stated in the rules, it must beat all known records. This run does not. Please familiarize yourself with the way this site operates before submitting again. Thank you.
To the rest of the site: Users who do not understand how we operate will continue to come to the site, and from time to time there will be sub-par submissions. The good of the 3 day waiting period far outweighs the bad, and thus it is perfectly fine for legitimate runs like this to sit on the bench for 3 days. Plenty of users provided helpful feedback to sirstarmagic. However, negative commentary is not necessary, and makes this site look bad to all. Additionally, there is no need to remove a subpar run from the twitter feed.
Thank you.

This run is over two minutes faster, while beating your incredibly arbitrary goal of 97100+ points by scoring 118400 points.

I'm sure it wasn't necessary, but I voted "No".

Starting SD + HD encode. On a more serious note, is this submission serious, sirstarmagic?

sirstarmagic, everyone here is a bit concerned that the run isn't up to scratch. The reason nobody is voting Yes is because the run genuinely doesn't improve on the previous SUper Mario Bros. runs. While I haven't had a good history of published TAS's myself, I do recommend reading the sites various guides, and perhaps even mingling with the community a bit more. And with this comes a question, how willing would you be to use the sites IRC channel? The channel will give you live discussion with some of the sites most active (and mentally destructive) members.

sirstarmagic, the people are voting no because it is, to the site's standards, honestly not a very optimal TAS. As I linked above, there's a significantly faster TAS of this game published on the site. It doesn't matter how much you glitch with more bugs, but if you don't beat the published runs of the game on the site, few people will vote yes for publication, and the run will be rejected. I would also not recommend submitting any more movies of Super Mario Bros., because it's one of the most perfected games of the site. It would be very tough for you to match that level of perfection with TAS tools, and further suboptimal runs will be rejected.

Mothrayas said it pretty well but failed to link to the Guidelines. In particular, pay attention to the "Select your goals well" section and this sentence: "Always compare your run to the current best run. If you are aiming for speed and you fail to beat existing speed records, your movie will be rejected. " The run fails on both of these guidelines and will be rejected.
It's hard to look this good. My TAS projects

Hmm you know, if you want "Yes!" votes then you should make serious works(it sure was serious but comparing to the actual one), since this game is really the most perfect tased here... I should recommend like the others said, read guildlines, rules and make researchs about the run, also discuss with the others at the forum, surely we all will be glad to help, its always good to see more people tasing ... Good luck!
My main objective here is to TAS the most obscure games titles!

I don't understand your arbitrary goal... Since better runs exist I see nothing this submission adds to the site. Voting no

Looks to be Super Mario Bros. (E). This doesn't look like a TAS in any sense. It looks like a playaround with vaguely defined (if any) goals and minimal tool-assistance. Please consult the rules and guidelines before making further attempts - if you're unsure what you should be doing, then ask first.

You never know when the next newcomer could learn and become great. Not everyone will decide to persevere through being ridiculed. Some of you treat new people like shit. It's sad. For example, Glitchman also got treated poorly by some when he first arrived, and IMO we're lucky he stuck it out and developed into quite a TASer. Keep in mind that these runs are made by people and not autonomous bots awaiting to provide you with perfect (and encoded) videos. (And I realize how silly it may seem to hear this from me, with all of my past arguments/ridicule. Hypocrite, etc. But I sure could have benefitted from taking this advice several years ago.)

I'm with JXQ here. Encouragement is better than ridicule in almost every case. So please people, try to practice it a bit more here.
