Wouldn't that be just one emulator? The others are a computer system and an OS.

This one really emulates 3 different CPU's within each other, not just virtual machines or multiple operating systems: 6502 -> 68040 -> PowerPC -> x86 The emulated NES only runs at about half speed, but that's with a slow emulator that doesn't even run SMB1 properly ...

I know, but give it a try and you will know why I wrote that. If you don't have a PS3, here's the spoiler: Lags like hell. I will try PS3 running Ubuntu running Wine running Dosbox running Nesticle if I have time.

Why? Even a 80386 running Linux should be powerful enough to emulate an 8-bit console at full speed, not to talk about a supercomputer like the PS3. There must be something else going on there.

That supercomputer is also prone to lagging really bad on inefficient code, like simple physics-based games (Trash Panic being one, and that's an in-house-developed title). Should be a breeze on a 8-core CPU, yet the system struggles with something even a senile Pentium 4 could do. Not sure what Sony software engineers' problem is.
