Hello, I'm new on this forum and I would begin to make TAS. I have decided to start with a game on PlayStation support. So I downloaded the PSXjin emulator. My questions are : What Bios or plugin i have to install ? What configuration I have to do ? Thank you for answer me.

All the plugins that are good for TASing are integrated if you use version 2.0.2 of PSXjin. You will need a US console bios (called "scph1001.bin"), I cannot tell you where to get that bios as it is against the rules of the forum, but some googling should lead you on the right track.

Thank you Warepire. But I still have a problem. To my mind, that is because of I don't know what to do with the ROM after downloading it. In fact, I can't load the ROM I want

Most PSX games come as ISOs; some come as combinations of BIN and CUE files. ROMs are only made from cartridges.

Perhaps I can help... Downloading the ROM (Which for PSX, it is either ISOs, BIN/cue, img.. not ROM)... So rephrasing that -> Downloading the ISO, BIN/cue, img file that you want, finish downloading all parts (if it is split between parts), and extract with WinRAR or Winzip or something similar... Now you have a folder containing the game, or part of the game (in the case of multi-disk games, such as Final Fantasy 7). The next step is to open up PSXJin. Make sure you have the correct BIOS and are using the correct system type (Either NTSC or PAL)... Though I suggest using auto detect, though if you're like me, I really only download NTSC (USA/JPN) games, and not PAL (Europe), then it's not much of a problem. Though if your going to make a TAS of that game, be 100% sure to make it it's correct System Type, because if not, your timing will be off. Configure the graphic settings to your liking. And config your controller setup so that you can actually play. To use PSXJin to play you open the program, click File -> Open CD. Find your game that you wish to play and the magic begins o_O. To start on a TAS read below. To start a TAS movie file... File -> Movie -> Start Recording. You will be prompted with a menu that asks for information.. Make sure you have the author correct (your TASVideos name or real life name, though pref. your TASVideos nickname, as when submitting you'll be asked your real name), and make sure that you RECORD FROM POWER ON. After doing that, and when you close of PSXJin, to replay/work on your movie... File - Movie -> Start playback. I suggest making backups of your movie from time to time, as well as uploading your movie file to a place like megaupload every 40k/50k/60k frames, in case of something like a HDD failure. I'd also like to suggest that you have read only checked, until you are sure where your current save states are, so you don't overwrite all your hard work! When you're sure your not going to delete what you actually want to keep you can toggle read only on or off from the movie menu, even when working on it. In the top right the usual record image is shown when you are recording. As for that please be sure to read all of these: -Welcome page -Guidelines -Rules That's about as much info as I can give you from what you have gave me, if you need anything else, be sure to post back, I don't mind helping :).

I'm assuming you should mess around with the graphic settings. Near the bottom click nice to see if that helped. If not, try activating different special game fixes. Try everything you can, and also try messing with the things in the options menu (like XA decoding?)... That's really all I can say at this point, as I myself don't understand why it should look like the game is snowing xD.

There are severe graphical issues with the Oddworld games currently in PSXjin. Dooty will have instructions on how to get them to work.
