I'm been using 1.43 v17 which is the latest version. I'm sorry I didn't state that earlier. I since they were able to see his first file I assumed the Rom may have been a different version. Kriole probably should have said that he switched to v17 when they asked what version he was using. I forgot what version I was on all I knew is it was the latest version and I was to lazy to look it up until now.

Yeah, i thought it could be v15 or an older cause i used v15 and it played it well, but to play Kriole last two movies i had to use v17. Btw, here is the speedbooster.avi with the improvement kriole posted: http://www.4shared.com/video/raRPy39R/Speedbooster.html

Sound interesting ;)
BTW I already have my 1st Segment up on my YouTube Page. Here's the link below if your interested. http://www.youtube.com/user/lxx4xNx6xxl?feature=mhw4

I watched your Ceres segment and it was really nice, actually you know me from m2k2 but with another nick. hehehe... Are you practicing segment 2? any problems with it? Iirc youre going for 100, right?

Oh really!!! Eye of the Beholder just who are you? Should I guess or is it something I'll never figure out? Anyway thanks I really appreciate that!!! I actually could have went for a better time, but its just Ceres. Yes I'm going for a 100% Run. I'll probably be streaming practice sessions on Saturday. Actually been going pretty well though I haven't played in a week but, the skills come back quickly. I might actually make some attempts on Saturday depending how I feel.

I understand how you feel about Ceres, your time is good enough to keep going. The best we can go there is half or one second faster, but it's not worth to keep trying that whole segment which can be a pain in the ass just to save one second or even less. So you're going to stream in a week, right? i remember you posted a link on m2k2, but i lost it. Could you please post it again? Btw, I'm from Brazil.

Yea I re-post on Saturday. I'm switching over to Justin TV anyway so I pretty much have to re-post it. Its better quality then Ustream and it also has better features. I'll keep you posted!!! :D

Ok, so despite this, it still shouldn't be possible to skip speedbooster, right?

Yeah, you cannot escape without it XD @lxx4xNx6xxl: nice movie on your channel :D I'm curious about the route you'll go on your SM 100% ;)

Why would you want to? Unless you find a way to skip the L1 lock as well, it's somewhat pointless. Skipping SB would require you to get PBs from Tourian (Norfair and Chozo won't work), so you'd have to fight Kraid, Ridley and MB. This prevents getting XRay from Tourian. Since you can't do the L4 lock without SB, you'll need to grab the XRay from the pirate ship. That's a LOT of ground to cover without speedbooster. Possible? Doubtful. Faster? Certainly not.

Iirc, lxx4xNx6xxl is going to use the same route as Behemoth (World record holder on SDA). Behemoth got 48min 100% run on PAL. Take a look at his page: http://www.youtube.com/user/giganotabehemoth87#p/c/2503980255897DB7 Anyway, he is going for early power bombs using the hero shot up in Brinstar shaft, so he can pick up the missile in kraid's area without backtracking there later and this way he can use some pb shortcuts. Go through Norfair to pick up speedbooster, wave beam and ice beam, go to Wrecked Ship, back through Crateria till Brinstar elevator next to the first Super Missile, some clean up there and head to Maridia. After maridia he goes to Lower Norfair. After killing Ridley he goes back and go to fight Crocomire and get the Grapple beam. After that he goes back through Brinstar, heading for blue brinstar area and up to Crateria again, so he goes for the pb up right to the ship and shinespark through the gauntlet, so he goes to Torian. Anyway, it will be better for you to take a look at Behemoth's page and watch his 48min 100% run, it's amazing.

The point of that smv was to show that you needed neither X-ray, nor PB's :P Forgot about the L1 locks, though, so even if it was possible to skip speedbooster it wouldn't be worth it.

Oh. So if you can use that method on the L3/L4-gates before draygon, then you've indeed skipped.. xray, and in turn PBs. Awesome! But skipping SB means that you cannot release the L2 lock, either (unless you go through ridley first), so you'd have to find a way to reach draygon from the pirate ship's front door with no locks released. Good luck with that! ;)

Reeve? I was gonna guess Reeve but, then you through me off by asking me if I'm going for a 100%. BTW thanks for explaining the route, I would hate to type all that out. Anyway yea I even do different strategies the Behemoth, so watch for those!!! Also I'm gonna have one more Segment then Behemoth because of the Dreaded Metroid Skip on NTSC!!! He is but a docile creature on PAL.

Wow!!! Draygon in 1 round that's madness I tell you. Is it because his damage is less or is it because the Shine Spark damage is that much more?

It's because of that infinite shinespark glitch. Normally once you hit the wall you will enter a different state that Draygon takes no damage from, but due to this glitch, that never happens, so Draygon takes damage every frame, and can't move. And because the state of Samus is reset when Draygon dies, you get unstuck again.

Hoandjzj, which part of the escape did you think that you could improve if you had more health?

That was crazy, cp! But if you killed him with shinespark, where is the blue suit?

You don't get it if you are up against the wall when he dies. At least I think it's something like that anyway.

Fortunately the blue suit isn't necessary in this hack.

Reeve?
Bingo!!! Yeah, the Big Metroid is too wild in NTSC and it makes very hard to skip him. Iirc skipping him saves around 10/3 seconds depending on how many jumps you'll need to reach the door, so it's interesting the idea to save in the first save when you enter Torian. This way you can have a cleaner Segment from LN to Torian and after that you can have a great Torian. Unfortunatelly you loose time adding another save, but you recover this time skipping the Big Metroid. The ideal would be skipping him like Behemoth did and save 10/3 seconds in the whole segment, but i know that this trick is too hard to pull off and a failure can ruin a great segment.
