I've raised the bar. I've got it down to 24:32 now (minus a few seconds because I ended the movie pretty late after dealing the final blow)... it's the highest tier run as far as I know because of the frequent usage of the Magnet Beam. It uses Morimoto's route.
Actually, Morimoto went G->E->C->I->F->B. He fought Elecman using the Power Arm. Very nice work though. Kudos.

No, that's what I did. Morimoto did G->C->E->I->F->B.

By the way 4matsy... you didn't use any of the up-down tricks. Do you still have the old version of FCEU?
Yeah, I never did get the one with up+down enabled. Dunno why...^_^' Could you direct me to it again? I've forgotten which topic had it, couldn't find it with a search, and it doesn't appear to be on the EmulatorHomepages page...<_<

D'oh...I've seen so many Rockman time attacks I've mixed them up. Speaking of which, Bisqwit, when will you SET US UP THE BOMB Man? </off-topic pun>

It's SET UP US, not SET US UP. Everybody gets that wrong.

I think Im going to use Bisqwits way og G-E-C-I-F-B. the Magnet Beam can really be useful is Cutman's stage for passing through some ladders you have to climb.

If you mean beating everyone's records in this thread, it won't happen. I suck at this game. Edit: Oh. Oh. Oh well. I'm actually planning it now. That's what the maps I advertised last week were for...

Oh, you started with Fire Man. Fire Man is a hard one to start with. Maybe start on an easy one and practice. Or maybe you do not want to get good at this game. That is okay.

Bag of Magic Food: My bad. My English auto-corrected the dialogue a little. nifboy: Exactly. Bisqwit: Yeah, that's what I was hinting at. I know, wrong topic.

Yeah, this is mean. You said there was still lots of room for improvement when you got the best time and when you used a bad order to do it.
Why do you guys think that starting with Fireman is no good? Whether you start with Fireman or Gutsman, you get to Wily at practically the same time (assuming you make no huge mistakes on either route). At least if you start with Fireman, you can perfect a difficult stage before advancing, whereas Gutsman's stage is short and easy. Unless you can use the magnet beam like in Bisqwit's timeattack, you can't really take advantage of starting with Gutsman.

So my monitor broke. Then I decided to do a run on my laptop. No game overs, but I ended around 40 minutes (I wasn't recording so I don't know the real time). I am not really that good at these games even though I love them.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

The only advantage I can see in doing FireMan first is having the Fire Storm for CutMan's stage, and it doesn't look like as big a time-saver compared to using the Ice Slasher and Magnet Beam to take shortcuts in FireMan's stage. Well, I guess if you do BombMan second, then you'll be able to use Hyper Bombs on GutsMan, which is nice if you can aim them well and hit Select at just the right time. I usually can't, which is why I should either get more practice or stay out of this topic.

make it clear: the obvious advantage of doing a hard level first is that if you mess up you can restart.

I noticed how frustrating it is to have to do hard levels later when I was working on a speedrun in Quake. Of course, I wanted to perfect my segmented run and not my single segment run, which more or less nulled this (apart from difficult parts in the levels which came later on), but it's hell to have to stop your entire movie because you missed one grenade jump (or one use of the magnet beam!) But still, I firmly believe that you can't really beat the highest time right now through a lower tier run unless you think up a ton more useful tricks.
