I'm halfway in-between "this run category is arbitrary" and "ZOMFG THIS RUN IS AWESOME!!!!111". Seriously, while the idea of collecting furniture for a castle room that will be soon destroyed seems silly, seeing new glitches performed (like the whip rise though the ceiling) was fun. And the run actually still never seemed to get old. It was a fun watch. The run was awesome. I just don't know if we need the category.

Yeah, it was a good run. Bringing hoards of collectibles to a room in a haunted castle for the sole purpose of decoration, all at tool-assisted super speed, only to marvel your work for full 2 seconds before destroying the said castle... is a perfect example of a certain kind of indulgence that is related to TASing in my opinion. Things are done exuberantly, just because you can. So the ceiling breaching glitch is new? Thought I hadn't seen it before in a HoD run. How does it work, anyhow? Yes vote. Just hope the categories don't get in the way.

It was an old glitch found after the Low-Grav Glitch was found. It had no use in other categories of HoD runs. To perform it, you just have to be in the Low-Grav status, then make a High-Jump to reach a ceiling (without bumping onto it), swing your whip and keep the whip unleashed (by holding down the B button). Gradually, you'll "drift" through the ceiling. I claimed the previous HoD submission that was also by sksk1990 as an HoD expert as well as a TASVideos Judge, but this time I'll refrain from voting for or claiming this submission as long as I am unfortunately uncertain about what to expect with this specific category as the average audience.

I was highly entertained. All the fun of a glitched run without so much of the tedium of an in-bounds run. The planning and manipulation involved with zipping through the castle's negative space deserves a lot of credit, too. It's a good goal for this game. If we can have an Aria of Sorrow "all souls" run in the hacks/demos/other section, I don't see why we can't have a run like this published alongside it.

I'd suggest that encoders should hold on for now, as it is quite likely that the author would hex-correct the evident flaws in menu screens and update this submission. I'm expecting to see a sub-25-min update with just hex-edit. EDIT: now the update is 680 frames faster with hex-edit and skipping using the invincibility jar in the last fight. It might be safe to encode this submssion now.

Well, that was quite a very enjoyable run. The levelling at the beginning was tedious, but after that, it was a ton of glitching, zipping and quick boss kills. I like how you completely compromised the layout of the castle and just made your own routes through zips, the ceiling one was new to me. Also, not being very familiar to TASing the game myself, how do you make Juste move this funky anyway? Definite yes vote.

Nice going, sksk1990! This looked like a pretty well-done run, and the ceiling glitch was a nice touch. I found the run fairly hard to follow, though, since I couldn't tell ahead of time which items were supposed to go into the decorated room (I haven't played this game before, but I've watched the published runs). I also just figured out that I really don't like the music of this game, and that makes the longer runs more annoying. The play quality and movement is excellent, though. I'm not sure what to vote yet, for the same reason Sir VG mentioned. Good job on the run though, nonetheless.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) i can't remember if i watched the 100% CotM run but like the synphony one this run would glitch trough almost the whole castles, and even more who knows...

If I recall correctly, the rejection reason for the 100% CoTM run was that you don't get anything for 100% completion. It's just an insignificant, tiny stat that's displayed in the menu you won't even see during the run. With this run here, you at least get to see the full room before the final boss, which, in my opinion, makes the difference. Don't get me wrong, I found the CoTM run to be very entertaining as well.

yes, but I think one of the goals should be, gets the best ending otherwise beating the game goes counter to getting all the furniture, beacuse it destroys the castle

then again, most of the games don't display anything from 100% completion besides a small thing you'll miss if you blink, specially in TASes. The 100% CoTM was rejected because it feels odd to see someone take great paint to get somewhere just to turn around without anything accomplished. The furniture is a collectible item, it's not an arbitrary goal in my opinion. It can be argued that is useless, but then again most items in 100% are just gathered for collection's sake. ...so, it's not useless nor arbitrary at all. It's just a silly Macguffin. If were stars instead of furniture no one would complain about it. And now I'm imagining getting chairs instead of stars in Super Mario 64. Such an evil plan, no one would be able to sit.
