IIRC this game has terrible collision detection; keep testing to see just how close you can go before a hit is registered.

So... Nobody's really been TASing this so I decided I'd post something for the few people who likely will be interested. Here's some useful info. RAM Adresses: 0598 X Big 05A3 X Small 05AE X Sub 05C4 Y 05CF Y Sub 05DA Horizontal Speed 05E5 Horizontal Speed Sub 05F0 Vertical Speed 05FB Vertical Speed Sub When walking right at full speed, his speed alternates between 1.56 and 1.80 Left, -2.176 & -2.200 Running Right, 2.136 & 2.160 Running Left, -3.96 & -3.120 For whatever reason, the left valus aren't truly the left values but whatever, that's what the RAM watch said. I'll figure out more stuff later.

The "branch name" box is about what goal you were aiming for. If you were trying to complete the game in the fastest time possible without any restrictions, you can leave it empty. If your time was slowed due to restrictions, such as trying to aim to complete every level in the game, you mention that in the branch name box (that example would be "all levels"; there are others, and if you have a particular category in mind, you can explain and someone can tell you what it would be called).

I think this game is more fun if you try to reveal every hint at least once. Could that be an extra goal? Some things I remember to watch out for are that message boxes usually have two hints, and sometimes historical figures are glitchy and fail to spawn, so it can be hard to determine whether the time you're in has one. I wondered about how the last submitted run had a few different results in how battling the 3 Troopas went. Is there a factor of luck that could be arranged to get one lowest time there every time?

I'm assuming you're wondering how you can record at an earlier part in the movie? Play the movie back in Read-Only, pause where you want to start recording again, save a state, change to Read+Write mode, then load the state you just saved.
All the best, Brandon Evans

no, no, i figured it out. it's during your recording you make a mistake savestate. just press ctrl+z. I submitted a fm2 file that was about a 20 second improvement.

Well, It's been almost a YEAR, but the run was rejected...because 'Deli saw improvements. So I'm working up an improvement. I'm figuring out the speeds of Mario right now and I'll do the first level. I'll send an WIP when I'm finished. Day 1 - I notice that however short or long you press A, Mario Jumps the same height. Even when running. Spin jumps (A+Up) are slightly shorter. Jumping, then spinning can make Mario land faster. Also, when running, making U-Turns make it seem like mario is on ice. Somthing to note in the Koopa levels. Finished the Olympic level.

Yesterday I did a chunk of levels, and I'm actually 3/4 of the way finished. The Koopas in the Mario Bros level come at Mario in 3 different ways, and I've perfected them all (For now). I always defeat the last koopa on the top platform. So I return to the Time-Pipe thingy the same way each time.
