Ok I just had to post this: -Pikachuman, the title "Ocarina of Time hack Zelda's Birthday" implies to me that this is no "official" rom (or not in the way the Master quest edition is). That said, this topic shouldn't have even been under "N64 games". Of what I understood, there are people who would like to see a tas of this because of reasons X, etc (you can include me in here too if you would like even though I haven't played this "hack" or seen much (if any) of it); but that does not make a legitimate reason for submitting such a run here. "But who said anything about submitting here?" Well, my point exactly, why are you posting this stuff (specifically) here? Then, look at the fact that people haven't posted in between your last 5 trillion posts. This could be a good indication that maybe they have ceased to show interest because of reasons like emulation issues, rom lags, Y, Z, etc OR they just realized how pointless it is discussing about something like this HERE. So why are you pushing this? Were you waiting for a post like mine to realize it? I mean, I absolutely love Zelda OoT, so much that just looking at the graphics and some new endings or a bit of a modified story plot would be like a dream come true for the epicness this game has had to my life, but again, not the right place here... I may not be a TASVideos "employee", but I really felt like doing something about this.

I think people are allowed to discuss games that arn't tas-able yet (e.g. DK for N64). Any usefull information about tasing this game should be posted and discussed here. I have seen other rom hacks been discussed in other threads too. I'm just happy we don't get all these posts in the Zelda OoT thread.

Not the same thing as having someone make 5 posts in a row, many of which are almost one-liners, in a topic they created. Hate to break it to you but nobody is interested in TASing this turd of a game :/ And hell, if they are, they know where to find this topic.

This game is actually quite fun and a TAS should be fun, too. But it's really not that high on the priority list that we would have to discuss it until it actually runs in mupen. What might work for this is: injecting it into the OoT wad and then TASing it in Dolphin. Somebody who cares more than me should probably test it. :D

This will be my first and last reply to you dear newbie: Donkey Kong 64 is an official rom of n64. Wake up. My point was make a new THREAD as you said. Don't post anyone's hack under n64 games. Like seriously...just stop ruining it. I mean, I saw Pikachuman mention sm64 The missing stars...like seriously just that was enough to not make me want to check out this game even further (not that I have played that game but hopefully you get my point). Keep things organized.

Please ignore Brian. He's just trolling as usual. IMO, all this crap since his post should be deleted or moved somewhere else. Pikachuman hasn't done anything wrong.

I am well aware I am not a moderator (not even interested in being one) and am not "playing" pretend; I'm for real. Keep things organized are not words reserved only for moderators; if one is not organized they mess up others who just log in to look at any new posts on the n64 games he/she is well aware of and not anyones hack or whatever... HHS: I guess it's my fault for the misunderstanding; I would call this a topic; N64 games, Workbench, etc as threads. That's what I meant by keeping things in the right place. Finally, I just got annoyed going to TASVideos and looking at some name under N64 games being like "Oh! someone posted something new" and then seeing it's for some hack whoever made which is clearly not an "official n64 game" I would be interested in (duh! that's why I really just look at N64 games thread). If you wanna discuss about some random hack find another way to do it. Don't take up my time

Thanks for telling us how to do our job. Additionally, there are plenty of threads for hacks, unlicensed games, homebrew, and etc. This thread is perfectly appropriate. I'd suggest you drop it. Additionally, it is rather ironic you are "wasting your precious time" posting such drivel, driving a thread to the top, the very thing you didn't want. You do have the power to ignore it. This thread stays. Grow up, and ignore it if you don't like it.

If only you actually did your job (properly), this topic would have been moved elsewhere on first sight with some notice to the reader. It's you the one who needs to grow up because why would I ignore something that's bothering me when I have the power to change it? And I'm not talking about the "power" of a moderator but the power of a voice. I suggest you stick to actually doing your job rather than showing off "Hey, look at me! I'm moderator and I can do this and that". We can tell who does their job and who just wears their position as an ornament. Furthermore, what seems ironic to you, is actually me defending my point; anyone in their right mind would realize it's not the topic I am supporting, but my argument. It's not a waste of time fighting for your point. I won't bring up examples; if you're too blind to see where I'm getting at too bad for you. Consider this conversation "dropped". I'm done with you. Geez, it's no wonder why people here find you so obnoxious...

DarkKobold's response is far from "obnoxious". This is an N64 game. This thread fits in this forum. What DarkKobold said is true. Lurk more. Learn how to ignore threads in which you're not interested. All you have to do is avoid clicking on them. It's really not hard.

Lex, you don't seem to understand as well. On the frontpage of tasvideos.org/forum you see all the threads and a name next to them of the most recent post. Ok so far? The only few places I look at (glance at) are the names under N64 games, and occasionally workbench/published/ and even rarer gruefood. That's really all I do. So when I see "Pikachuman" or whatever after a post I made or someone else I remember making, I go "Wow, a new post by someone. Let me CLICK on N64 games and see what this is about." And it's about the same HACK of an n64 game. (which should not by any means be considered an n64 game). Why should I waste my precious time of even clicking on N64 games if a post was made on something completely irrelevant to me when this HACK is not really a game. If it were an official n64 game and it completely uninterested me, THEN I would ignore it. Do you blind ones, see my point now??? I don't know how much clearer I can make things for you.

If your time is so precious, why did you waste it writing that post? Just hang out in the IRC channel (#tasvideos on freenode) and you'll see when new replies to topics appear. The topic title will be in the channel with a link. You don't have to click it, and you won't if you don't like the title.

Solution: You won't have to waste time looking at two pages if you bookmark (or have your browser open the page automatically) this page. Now you can quit bitching about something as pointless as this conversation you're "defending."

You're clearly not following along. I said I glance once in a while at workbench too and published movies... Pff, why did I even bother replying to you. And that's not really the point. It's about being clear, precise, and organized. If this topic was posted in a thread more convenient, than this whole fuss wouldn't even exist. Tasvideos would only benefit making it easier for newcomers to navigate through the stuff THEY THEMSELVES are interested in by simply implementing this "complaint" and putting things in order. In other words, by actually having people doing their job properly.

You should write a poem about how many clicks a day you waste filling up with excitement at the orange icon besides N64 games, only to find that the only updated topic is some vile and preposterous hack that would make the evil overlords of the binary world cry in disgust. Seriously though, grow up, this is such a petty inconvenience for you to be throwing such a hissy fit about.

Y'know, tone helps a lot. When you say that people aren't doing their jobs properly or that they aren't following along...people often decide that it's not worth their time to follow along because all they're getting is abuse. Whereas if you're polite and considerate then they're vastly more willing to take the time to listen to you. In short, being rude on a forum is more or less equivalent to pissing into the wind. Of course, this has all gotten way off topic now.

obvious troll is obvious... I don't see the problem of having 1 thread for a N64 game(hack) in the N64 games part of this forum. people have tons of Super Mario World hack threads under SNES games. Also Brian, I think DarkKobold's posts made much more sense than your posts.

Wow, am I glad I haven't ever been on the snes forums. Dude, I just visited them to see what you're talking about and it's absolutely horrible. God help the N64 games thread to not become anything like that mess. So unorganized I can hardly find any known SNES games. See what I'm talking about? Wouldn't it be much more appropriate putting all that junk under one thread? Of course it would and you know it deep inside...even if you're not willing to admit it. Who will take the brave step on the minority side of this issue? Reason shall prevail and let us not fear how big the majority is my friends. Wow this turning into a comedy. But seriously, take it seriously now would you

The TASVideos forum can be weird with keeping several games or hacks in one thread or branching them out into several threads. Super Mario World and Super Mario 64 have lots of threads for different hacks but some games have posts about hacks mixed with posts about the original game (though I can't think of any examples). Speaking of keeping the N64 Games section clean, there are lots of threads about Super Mario 64 (improvements, "16 star", etc.), some threads that aren't even about games (like "N64 analog stick" thread), and threads asking where the topic for a specific game is (like Donkey Kong 64), with only one reply from someone linking to the correct topic. And there's even a thread called "Wind Waker" (which is an incorrect name for a GameCube game). The older threads of the N64 games section are a mess and I wish that section could be cleaned up so it looks better (but I'm not an editor, so I can't do it myself).

>>Geez, it's no wonder why people here find you so obnoxious... Roses are red Violets are blue DarkKobold is obnoxious And (lol!) he sucks, too! There once was a man from TASVideos Who had made a wad of his panty hose Because BrainStorm was right he was quite contrite To find that his modding lacked.

This is very inspiring! I wish I had such enthusiasm to say "Wow" every time there was a new post in the N64 section. In the future I will strive to be so enthusiastic about TASVideos. It is such a shame that his intense desire to learn about N64 TASes is so maliciously hampered by the infiltration of games that aren't for N64 into the N64 subforum!

He obviously knows this since it is what he is complaining about! If you were doing your job properly, we wouldn't be having this problem! This is TASVideos not HackVideos! I can only imagine his emotional trauma every time he has to CLICK on N64 games to see what a new post is about only to be blindsided by a bait and switch tactic to make him read about games that aren't even for the N64 at all! Sheesh! !!!
