I'm not sure where to put this so i put it here, if not right please move. Using SNES 1.43 and no matter what Nigel Mansell World Championship rom i download it will not run. Either it's blank or never gets past the 1st screen before going blank. I have downloaded other roms in the same places with no problems. Does this need a certain emulator to run or is it sort of like Top Gear 3000?

Give lsnes a try. That emulator can run Top Gear 3000 correctly, among other things. Apparently the GUI can be a bit hard to understand though I didn't think so. lsnes is based off bsnes, if you cannot figure out the GUI you can give bsnes a try because the GUIs are completely different.

Or SSNES, which is even another frontend for libsnes.

On Isnes: how to configure a joystick? It says i don't have one installed but that's not true. I have a snes controller that plugs into usb port.

Joystick support in lsnes is barely functional. Use a program like Joy2Key instead: http://www.electracode.com/4/joy2key/JoyToKey%20English%20Version.htm

I got it to work but the game is running too slow. I would like it like on a real console, speed says it's about 59 - 69. Is there a way to speed it up? I checked and rechecked options and other commands but nothing.

That can be either: * Very old hardware. * Some slow to emulate expansion chip (however, I find no information about existence of such chip, so I regard that as unlikely) * You are misreading it, it is really about 59-61 and you hit that 60% speed bug. If it is the last one, selecting '1x' from speed menu would speed it up. First two, not much doable besides upgrading the computer hardware.

You are probably right about the speed but i see no speed menu or anything that says 1x. Maybe i overlooked it. The only old hardware i have is a video card, it's about 1999, the rest is a early sata machine. I don't see why this would cause it, i can run every thing else fine on snes 9x except for nigel mansell and top gear 3000. This card can run N64.

N64 emulators don't require as much accuracy yet as the (much more mature) SNES emulator bsnes. When they will emulate every little hardware feature then they'll get slower too. UltraHLE's minimum requirements were a PII 233Mhz and a 3DFX Voodoo1, but it could run only a handful of games.
