It's not the rom, it's the emulator. TMNT 1 works fine in VirtuaNES and NESticle, to my knowledge. :/

Are you sure? As I said earlier, TMNT 1 crashed for me at the exact same spot in Nesticle. This points to faulty ROMs more than emulator problems, but it's not 100% of course.

No that's not the rom. Famtasia and Nesticle are miserable emulators.Try it with FCE Ultra or other good emulator. http://www.zophar.net/nes.html

It doesn't work in NESticle either? I thought it did... I might've been thinking of FCE Ultra, since I used that emu a lot for a good while until I found VirtuaNES... I know for a fact it works in VirtuaNES though, because I beat the game in it. Even found a cute lil' safe spot in Shredder's room...we were right out in the open and he kept clawing away at me but couldn't connect, and I proceeded to give him the ultimate humiliation by having Mike beat on him with his weak little flail...LOL :P EDIT: Hey, now there's an idea...a run using only Mike's regular weapon...put an end to all those who say he can't fight in this game... :)

Phil: But if I use another emu, then I can´t do a speedrun of it? Atleast not an .fmv file?

You can do one in virtua nes, but bisqwit won't accept it. It won't be an fmv

I have played throw turtles(ntsc) with VirtuaNes. I have recording when I play this simple game without taking a single hit. If anyone want the .vmv file just tell me and I email you it. There is much to improve in my movie and I made it so it could be a guideline for a much more skilled person than I'm.

Yeah sorry I think you should forget TMNT.

...of making a TMNT run, and I was wondering if someone is already in th making of one? Otherwise I'm gonna start studying the game a little since I can't really remember the maps etc. It was such a long time since I played it now. Anyway, do you have any ideas or features you would like to share with me? One last thing, is anyone making a Metal Gear run? It would be really nice to watch a timeattack of old Metal Gear :D Anyhow, maybe I'll consider making one in the future.

To stay in the topic... I'm thinking that someone should learn how to choose better subjects for their messages :) What are everyone else thinking?

Two people have tried TMNT. famtasia seems to have some difficulties in a certain part. Metal Gear was stopped because it was boring, but it's doable, so feel free.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Sorry Bisqwit, I'll do better next time, promise! :D Hmm, if it has problems emulating, there seems to be no point in putting in a lot of effort just to get stuck :/ I think Metal Gear is a little early for me to give myself into, because of the planning it takes. Hmm, hmm, hmm... I wanna do something tho! Any suggestions?

Thewind: I tried TMNT and it crashed when I got to the technodrome.. 4 hours wasted that day. Great. Uhm.. Since I couldn´t do Kabuki Quantuam Fighter either, cus of a bad ROM, I suggest u do that ,P. It´s a great game, comparable to Batman.

TMNT can be done completely deathless as fast as possible. Just switch Turtles during the dam sequence, hell I didn't even get any Turtle under 2 bars of life and Donny hadn't a single scratch. Otherwise use Donny for the rest of the game (Raph for some tricky jumping spots) and give Mikey the scrlls so he's not so useless. The only issue I have with this game is the fact that the game does indeed give you a random monster set, which could possibly affect the FMV playback and make it unrenderable. Unless the FMV also saves the monster set which you recieved playing through, it would be impossible to make a movie for this game as the monster set you recieve would ultimately affect how many hits you dole out and therefore how much damage you take. If the FMV doesn't save this information the movie would be broken. Of course this is academic since it doesn't work in Famtasia... ;)

like bisqwit said, there's nothing ramdom in a computer. "ramdom" is a code that takes a number based in the clock, or sprite position to give back a value used as "ramdom" while it is not. so don't worry it will record the monster set correctly.

I'm very interested personally. I never actually finished the game before. I think that the farthest I ever made it was to the lava stages with the moving platforms. So if you could throw up a link to the .avi download, that would be terrific!

As i said, i haven't got a server to host such a big file (73.4 M) nor a bittorrent tracker, and i don't know if emule will work well for this, anyway let's give it a try. I suppose everybody knows already how does the emule-edonkey net work so there you go, here's the link for the file: ed2k://|file|Teenage.Mutant.Ninja.Turtles.avi|76980224|927BB85C8903B6B88BB17776853E3465|/ and here the server were i will be connected for the next few days: ed2k://|server|195.245.244.243|4661|/

I want to know which version of VirtuaNes you used to make this run and if you used the US, EU or JAP rom?

Hi. My name is Ryan, I've been a long time watcher of the speed run type video, and decided to have a crack at it in TMNT. Anyways, I feel I've been doing real good. HOWEVER, I happened to get to the Door leading into the fight against the Technodrome. Whenever I go into the door though, The game suddenly freezes. Any help would be helpful. I can send someone my save state if that would help. Just let me know Thanks. Ryan

It seems everyone get this error in Famtasia, several people have tried but everyone got stuck where you are, I don't think there is a way to continue from there...

I tried it for some weeks agio, experience the same problem (see the TMNT thread). Tried several ROMs but nothing helped. Sorry but you just wasted time =/. Atleast I think.
