STBM, that is an all tracks run. It plays through all 32 of them. And blue shells are still BS.

I think I'll just do a VS Race TAS (It would be 3/4 shorter than doing all CCs xD) I would just need help learning how to record the movie (.dtm won't be replayed with a Gamecube Controller o_O) and setting up some things. If you can help me contact me on Skype: Malleoz.

I'm not really sure if the CPUs or item boxes can be manipulated so that you can get shrooms/cpus don't get blues/shocks/pows/reds, but if they can, then this might be useful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lw_dChnMETI But then again, I don't think that any hacks would be allowed during the making of the run (so let's have some blue mts please, not green ;)), so this could be useful just for pre-run testing. But whatever happens, I'm really looking forward to this, as far as I know no-ones ever done a VS. race TAS, so this could be fun :) To determine the fastest position (i.e. 3rd or 4th) that you can get a certain item, make sure to refer to this:

you can use whatever hacks you want (it’s encouraged, even) just as long as the ending result can be played back without any hacks on, should be pretty obvious meaning: speed hacks would make the movie desync, so you can’t, but an animation hack to help you in the making of the TAS, that can then be turned off during the replay of the movie without causing any desync, then you’re encouraged to use it to improve the quality of your TAS

Regarding the items, I would set it to Strategic, thereby eliminating blue shells and leaving only items such as green shells that can be easily avoided. Would that be allowed? And how would I record it? .dtm?

You would have to record your TAS as a .dtm for it to be accepted by the site. Like ALAKTORN said, you can use whatever you need to use to make the run, as long as the .dtm (which contains the recorded input only) can be played back and sync on an unmodified Dolphin and game ISO.

But when I tried to play back a .dtm I made of my Maple Treeway 2:11.386 it said could not be played back. Please make a recording without Gamecube Controller. :S

Weren't the currently published Wii runs made with a GameCube controller? Why doesn't your Dolphin want to play back runs made with a GameCube controller?

I don't know. I tried making the run, but A) The movie keeps ending whenever I press F12 (reload last savestate) or if I press 2 savestates at the same time. B) It keeps saying that a fatal error has occured, or something like that D:

Don't use the reload last savestate thing. It makes Dolphin stop recording.

I was thinking in doing a MKWii TAS in the form of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VUXcr_LTj8 But apon a test playback, it say Fatal Desync. Aborting Playback. (Error in PlayWiimote: 4 != 19, byte 55) I configured everything properly. Help?

Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

If I remember right, this error happens when the game make saves in the wii... Go to your Dolphin directory, then in /User/Wii/title/ and delete everything. That should work. Maybe. Make a backup of this directory just in case.

Did you use the versions that have more stable Wiimote recording (the standard versions have seriously unstable Wiimote recording)? Also, MKWii supports Gamecube controller? If yes, it is much easier and more stable to TAS with GC controller.
