Just because there is one on Nico doesn't mean someone here couldn't improve it by a few seconds and submit it. I am sure there a lot of people who don't see a TAS unless it is posted here.
Ohhh okay, Parasol Henbee was the game I was thinking of.
And here's another suggestion. Ai Senshi Nicol for FDS:

Overhead-view action game, akin to Guardian Legend or Blaster Master
I was also going to mention Dragon Buster and A Week of Garfield (although I'm not serious about the Garfield one... maybe). Also, Donald Land.
User hisatoki's Youtube Channel has a few Famicon-only TASes that may give you ideas.

This goal is too ill-defined. How much use of each turtle needs to be done for it to count?
Super mario world tracks your number of exits, and many are hidden, so they are entertaining to locate, so that's why the all exits run exists. SMB3 doesn't care, why should we?
rejected already due to bad game choice. The combination of only being impressive to those who played it and long autoscrolling sections with no really special tricks killed the submission.
This is actually probably a worthwhile 100% goal.
The run syncs on the english rom as well. SO this already exists. :)
This is arguable, because the difficulty is increased, although the quality is worse. Worth a look.
There is nothing to reccomend this over the japanese version.
I believe this would not be very entertaining. but someone could prove me wrong if they wanted to. :)
100% runs would be slower and less entertaining. FOr Zelda 2, a 100% run would only differ by taking detours to grind exp and colect unused magics (and then not use them anyway) And in zelda 1, it's clear that the reason hear containers are skipped is because they aren't needed to win. ANyone can find all the secrets, the skill is in working fast with as few of them as possible. a 100% run would be considerably less skillful in both cases, and a TAS must showcase superhuman skill.
Hey if somoene can make this intersting go for it.
I assume you mean SMB 2 US version. if we are going to do that, we also need a luigi only and a toad only. It might be interesting to see which is fastest, though. :) Princess only exits because it was made when the princess was not used at all in the main run.
All this means is you have to GRIND more. which is counterproductive to TASing. If the best ending can be had with no backtracking and no pausing to grind, then it might be worth doing.

This is the only one I don't really agree on. I would definitely find it entertaining to see a bunch of additional stages of SMB3 get ripped apart — stages which would otherwise simply NEVER be given the TAS treatment because they are not on the optimal path.
I agree that an "all levels" run of Super Mario Bros 3 should be done, and if this thread for this movie are anything to go by, there actually was one on the site at some point.

Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

Although your premise seems sound, I must disagree here with your contention about Zelda 1. I believe it's in fact much more complicated to plan and tas a 100% run, due to having to manipulate a large amount more drops to make sure your health is full at the end of each dungeon. And that makes deciding how many damage boosts, and whether to save warp very difficult and can also affect your route.
If I could have a tool-assisted real life, I'd...
Being a novice, I'd probably load the wrong state, have the IRS AI bankrupt me, and eventually make me want to kill myself and redo 11 years of hard work.

Has anyone suggested The Mutant Virus: Crisis in a Computer World? It's a game about Conway's Game of Life replicating and taking over the room, but each cell born is the same colour as the majority of its parents, you can paint cells blue and if no green cells are left you beat the room. It's a diabolically tough game due to how hard it is to predict the cellular automata will act in the future.

The games I want to run
- Super Mario Bros. Special (SMB1 Hack)
- Legend of The Blob Bros. 2 (SMB2 Hack)
- Kirby's Adventure (Puresabe Hack)
- Life Force
- Kiwi Kraze (Probably)
- Antartic Adventures (Probably)
- Penguin Kun Wars (Problably)
While it showcases some really cool and impressive things that can be done with the game engine, Kirby Puresabe is unfinished, so I don't think you can make a publishable TAS out of it.
As for Antarctic Adventure, there is already a published run of the MSX version, but you're free to try and improve it. Kiwi Kraze as well.

I'm looking for co-authors.
The JPN version of Life Force has a different enough set of changes that it might be worth using that instead of the USA version. For whatever reason, the JPN version of Life Force is called Salamander if you need help finding it.
I recommend looking at this .fm2 (JPN version) for a bit if you want to try. Don't forget this thread.
