I agree, people can do what they want. I always stopped input at the first frame possible, but now I'm tending more to stopping the input after actually completing the game (last hit hits the final boss). This way completion of the game cannot be prevented by pressing start or anything, and you'll have the shortest avi time.

I go with "shortest input time that does not lengthen the avi time" In the case with monopoly I'd rather see shortest input time, so far it is the only game that I fell that way about.

Honestly, with a game as short as this, I wouldn't mind if the AVI was a bit longer if it meant input time was less. The last submission of the NES Monopoly was like, 30 seconds, right? I really don't see a problem so long as the actual game itself isn't too long. Of course, there is the option of pausing the game before the last hit, but hey, that's more of a player's choice than anything whether or not to hit the pause button a good 90% of the time.

I watched it now. Entertaining, but I don't think it should obsolete the current run since it's actually (quite a bit) longer.

Obviously this is no where near what a possible record could be, but from what I heard the fast way isn't exactly fun to watch. So I made a little something that might be more pleasing to the eye. I destroy all the computers by getting the Railroads, Boardwalk and Parkplace all in one round the board. If anyone wants to do a serious 7 computer own run, please feel free. Although it became a bit repetitive, I liked the luck manipulation. I don't know if you have seen these movies. I made them long ago: Monopoly in 0:27 using trade Monopoly in 0:35 actual game time using trade Monopoly in 0:56 3 CPUs bankrupt Monopoly in 1:08 4 CPUs bankrupt Monopoly in 1:08 4 CPUs bankrupt alternate

Yeah I don't know I could try to make it a little better. I've seen a few of your vids, I do like them. Would be interesting to see how you do 7 computers...heheh.

I think someone should set up 8 players with the right properties such that no one will ever agree on a deal, and the game will literally never end, then set yourself as a cpu player, and end input.

That'd be an awesome submission in 163 days. Though I think once the deal ends with disagreement, then the next turn is played, and thus the potential to lose money and move the game forward.

Your account can't be deleted, but you can be banned, so you'll want to be careful. I would recommend reading up on the Site Rules and considering what would make a great, entertaining TAS (maybe another game) before you submit another run that gets you yelled at.

But other than River City Ransom for NES (which I honestly don't understand the plot of), I can't think of anything! I want ideas on NES games with publishable runs!
