I tried redoing level 2 yet again, and it finally led to perfect luck on level 3. So, this movie is 4 frames faster than my 1st version, and 143 frames faster than the published one.

Well, that record lasted about 5 minutes. That's a pretty substantial improvement over the published run. I vote Yes. Should I come back in a few minutes and see if someone has a faster one?

Well.. the last one got published so.. I still think you have done a excellent job.. i thought the last one was excellent also.. but.. to me it seems like a one time entertainer. Sorry. I did try to find some glitches but failed so.. Nothing you can do about that. I think this one is fastest possible, So, this one i guess deserves to be published over the last one... Voting Yes..

IMO..I think.. That you should not be allowed to vote unless you have a reason anyway. Or maybe.. Users with 100 votes so that they know what should be published and what shouldn't.. or only active users or what ever.. i hate to see a movie get No votes with no reason.

i meant like.. Maybe people dont become users until their 100th vote.. then you must be a user or what ever to vote.. you know? you dont need very many votes to become a user.. so.. At least.. make it so that all votes must have an explanation.

How can you vote 100 times if you're not allowed to vote in the first place? thats what i meant by locking the key inside the box

it's not possible anymore to vote without downloading the file first. aaa2 is one of the abusers mentioned. Bisqwit banned him from voting : http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2432&highlight=aaa2 just download the submission file before voting, dammit :) //edit I got the file but still can't vote. seems the 100 posts limit theory is true.

Actually, I just set an experience limit on voting. You need to have been around for a certain amount of time and posted a certain number of posts before voting works. As for checking for downloading the submission file, I've just done it manually in a few cases by observing the behavior in the access logs. As for aaa2's case, his personal ban is explained here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/p/38016#38016

And if I watch the movie with laptop and comment with my pc, which has different ip, I'll get in troubles? I know it's not everyday this happens but we can't assume it's always as if one didn't watch the movie.

I don't intend to spam the forum to reach the limit and then be able to vote. I just vote and post in topics I find interesting, which are both rare. but now, "thanks" to the abusers, I can't do the first one anymore. it seems my votes aren't worth considering anymore, yet I understand the measures taken against abusers. (sorry if it sounds a bit bitter, I support the system though)

That's why I don't program the forum to check it automatically.

This movie has been published. The posts before this message apply to the submission, and posts after this message apply to the published movie. ---- [357] NES Donkey Kong by Arc in 01:18.17

I've voted a very small amount of times without actually watching the whole movie before, which I won't do again. But, in those cases, I've usually been following a WIP by the author and I know how (s)he's played.

Good improvement. Ut oh when I have voted for my own submissions I didn't download it first kekeke.
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

Im not sure if I agree the whole download from the submission thing. Some of these movies grow up on the forums like SMW and so you would know the contents of the submitted movie in large part already.

To be fair though, a submission, when zipped up, is seldom more than a few Kbytes big. So if you have to download a file to be able to vote...doesn't seem like it's that big a deal. All just IMO, of course
