Techniques and Tricks
  • Walk through walls: trick found by Yunsui. With 2 frames before hit wall or fall edge, move forward taping shoots. It also help skip stage in fast time
  • Air jump: make jump when using Yunshui's trick.
  • Jump higher: make shots before over jump
  • Reduce use jumps and fall edge: save 1 frame for each jump and fall edge
Thanks
Note: With youtube's video, sometimes bullets're not appear because it only have 29.97 FPS. It need 60 FPS for show all

feos: Judging...
Noxxa: Replaced submission file with a 21-frame improvement.
feos: Replacing the submission file with a 10 more frames improvement.
feos: Accepting for Moons. No one of the posters really disliked the submission, and the reason is distinguishable: this movie involves cool glitches, the action is intense and dodging bullets makes sense in this game. The votes are also rather positive. Finally, the optimization was brought high enough level to warrant publication.

Funny, but too repetitive for a Yes vote for me. My reasoning is the same as in the other thread. Good job with the optimization, though.
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. A non-standard category such as this (pacifist/no damage) is not Vault-eligible.

Mothrayas: Wouldn't this still qualify as an any% run? I think it's trying to be as fast as possible with some minor speed-entertainment tradeoffs. I'd say this should be Vault-eligible as the first movie of the game, but a later any% movie which ignores the no-damage or pacifist roles could obsolete it.

Why is this cross-goal obsoletion obsession still alive?

I love pacifist runs, and this one is short enough that its shortcomings aren't that bad. Yes vote!

Each jump provides a 1 frame movement freeze as you touch the ground again (falling from a block too), so basically, one should avoid jumps as much as possible. This means getting into obstacles will be faster than jumping on them or falling from them. Also, dodging the bullets must be slower than killing the enemies, especially considering that obstacle condition, where enemies don't allow you to enter the wall. And I don't know if no damage is also faster than taking damage. Why people keep using this goal, no damage + pacifist, when it can't even go to Vault if the run was not liked? I would make the fastest possible run to make sure it is done okay in the first place, and only then make a pacifist one, if it represents enough variety over the main branch.

This movie looks like a borderline between Vault and Moons, which is always hard to make a decision about, since it is either mooned or rejected. For now I only think this submissin can be improved by performing wall-clips instead of jumps, like the older movie by Yunsui did. The response from the viewers is too poor to determine if it is generally a liked or a disliked movie. For a non-standard goal that may be critical, while "fastest by any cost" will be published anyway if optimized enough.

but alway walk through walls will slow down speed because lag (same Yunshui got rejected) if want reduce jumps then I must remove pacifist, kill enemies before they can shoot me then I don't need jump for bulltles dodge

I see NO ingame lag even in Yunshui's movie! Only between the scenes. You will also see it if you turn on lag counter (press "/") which you seem to be not using. I have no idea why lag was mentioned in his submission decision at all, because old fceu did not have lag display! Only the gun level-up looks like a misoptimized thing. Moving inside walls doesn't slow you down either, the screen always moves at 1 pixel per frame (RAM address 0x46).

I see, but there is no point in entering a wall if you still jump out of it and still lose 1 frame. You just need to try this strat throughout the run and avoid more jumps.

Okay, then for this branch it must be optimal. I actually think the votes are OKAY enough to go to Moons (and the content does look nice), but that's just me. Any more opinions anyone?

Done. (Also, for your information, mods cannot replace submissions. Judges can.)
