You don't have to restart entirely right?
Edit: How hex-friendly is mupen? I guess really bad?

I figured I might as well start my evolution from TASing puzzle games on the NES to games on the N64, and where else better to start than Zelda?
I need some tips for doing this. My first attempt was on OoT about a year ago; the one thing that slowed me down was navigating menus because since I was using a TAS input plugin, moving the cursor required a lot of clicking, dragging, then frame advance, etc. Then the hard part for me was actually playing the game. I remembered how side-jumping is faster than just running, but the problem is I don't really know any time-saving glitches or tricks.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Post in the original topic please. It's best to have all information in one spot, as opposed to more and more topics being created each time a person wants to ask a single question. You can find tricks and techniques by looking in the Game Resources page, under OOT.
And without ever attempting OOT myself, surely menu selections should be one of the easiest things to do? I would've thought it would be quite linear and digital, unlike say Cucco collecting.
Sockfolder's easy setup for 'Castle Escape Void Warp as Adult' saves about 1:50 in almost every category.

This glitch works because you hit a loading zone on the same frame you void out from falling too far, so there will be many equivalent ways of triggering the glitch.
Maybe someone will make a setup for any% soon.
This trick doesn't work as child (which is what I actually found the trick as) since he just pops back up.

how did he get into that position in the first place?
For the other bombless setup, this is how you get to it:

Though sockfolder's new setup on the other ledge is probably best since in a TAS you can just use rocks to boost you anyway (instead of bombs) so it shouldn't be a problem :)

I take it you could set that up with an angled sidehop?
A tas could ofcourse do that.
Can you do this clip as child, is the question on my mind. I Kind oft doubt it.
If you could you use a bolder to hit you. They hit people trying it with a bomb in That Palace quite a few times.

GaS was able to get OoB by doing this clip and getting pushed by Gohma at the same time... I'm not sure it's possible to kill her and also do it though, and also I worry that gohma wouldn't finish dieing in time, if that's an issue.
Does jumping into the void after Ghoma is defeated get rid of the stone slab? If so that should be usefull for 100%.

I have also found a way to skip the web to B1 by clipping at the wall at top of the ladder using a megaflip. when I performed the trick, I used bombs but I'm pretty sure now that it should be possible from the skullwalltula in a TAS.
Could you maybe put up an unlisted video of that one? I don't really get which place you mean yet.

I'm not sure, that this works. IIRC hanging of ledges "resets" the Z button, so you can't keep your angle locked.

You misunderstood. You need Gohma to push you OoB, so this is completely useless.

Link to video <-- this is the sort of thing I was thinking of. It works with a ton of different angles, but the positioning you start the megaflip at is a little stricter for some reason (obviously the positioning is different for every angle though)
But after looking at the height of the transition plane for the basement to reload the room, I realise it's higher up than I thought, which means it's less likely to actually save time... Still, it might be worth investigating

100% has chus. I would be surprised if a push from ghoma worked but not a push from an explosion.
Otherwise you could let a chu run around, to kill ghoma right after she pushed you.

I was talking about any% like most people here. Those Gohma physics are quite weird, especially the most recent clip through the stone wall/block. That OoB thing might really only be possible using Gohma. You have to watch a video of it, then you will see.

Yeah but I was talking about 100% as can be clearly seen in the post you quoten. ;p
Even if only Ghoma can push you oob, maybe you could kill her with a chu at the same time...

As far as I can see, there is no OOB ground there. So nope.

Bombchus can't hurt Gohma and you have to stun here before anyway. Give it up, my friend :P
I gave jbop the impossible challenge of using that OoB to warp to Bongo. Good luck, jbop :p.
Speaking about that:
What happens if you void Wrong Warp in the Fire Temple Boss Room?
EDIT: I checked myself and theoretically it warps you to Lake Hylia, if I'm not totically mistaken. Kind of pointless.
