Hello guys. I've been watching those timeattacks of Bisqwits site for quite some time now, and i finally decided to make my own. I'm currently doing a run on Blues Brothers, coz I really like the physics of this game. I'm currently on level 4 of 5 and I hope it will turn out ok. It won't be very long methinks, cause the game is incredibly fast. I just hope i haven't been playing a bad rom. :P

Allrighty! I's done (a lot sooner than I expected). I think it turned out quite good, altough not perfect. Maybe I will correct them mistakes in a later version. If you want to check it out, you can get it here.

Just to make sure, I hope you remember that if you want Bisqwit to even glance at your timeattack, the forum is not the way to go. Please read the FAQ and submission instructions.

Uh...since this is the only "Blues Brothers" thread, I'll post it here. While messing around with this game, I found a 3 frame imporvement to the published run. I'm not sure how to make the spike hit me earlier, so I used the input for the publsihed run. =P I'm unsure whether or not the spike could arrive eariler. Can someone please help me test it out? Edit: I saved 1 frame. Not going to post WIP yet, as it might be improvable. Failed to save another frame on the first stage, going to the next stage.

108 frames saved. I tried several different ways to go up/down the ladders, and this seems to be the fastest. WIP

Uh.... [1390] NES The Blues Brothers by J.Y in 03:39.77 This run desyncs with fceux-2.2.2-win32 at the very beginning due to loading 15 frames faster. If said amount of frames were removed, it then desyncs at 4th stage because it misses a pipe. I want to continue my TAS of this again, but I got no clue which fceux behavior is more accurate. This is what happens: Link to video

I would assume a newer FCEUX would be more accurate. It's probably better to use the latest version than an old one anyway, just because of generally better features and bug fixes.

Better yet, use BizHawk. It's even more accurate than FCEUX.

First stage: Frames 125 - 1599 = 1474 Second stage: Frames 1795 - 2884 = 1089 Now here's the converted file for the 1st 2 stages: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/12057803437825232 First stage: Frames 103 - 1584 = 1481 (7 frames lost wtf?) Second stage: 1780 - 2869 = 1089 (Same as above) The difference between the 2 files at the 2nd stage end equals 15 frames. However, the game lagged 7 frames less to get the 1st stage to load, yet somehow my loses 7 frames again at the end. How does this even work? Especially since its not even from lag. :o Edit: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/12059802461447455 I've redone the entire 1st stage to make it jump to the music. I wasn't able to save any frames on the first stage, only 1 from the 2nd. Any opinions on it?

I like it. I think it's a nice touch, as long as it doesn't waste any time. Did you mean to make that movie on FCEUX 2.1.4 though? I thought you were making this run on 2.2.2.

Thanks for your opinion on the stage! :) Also, I am using 2.2.2, it's just that I resynced my previous WIP so that I could compare it without much trouble.

For some odd reason, when pasting the 3rd stage to FCEUX 2.2.2, everything is the same, until up to frame 4026 of the converted run, where for some reason the bulldog I'm on is somehow pushed 4 units ahead on the X address. Even stranger is that the lag seems to have occurred at the exact same locations as running on the previous emulators, along with having the same amount of lag. Since I'm not sure which behavior is correct, I'll just continue this on FCEUX 2.2.2, sync it with BizHawk, 2.2.2, and 1.5/1.4 and see which version console verifies :P Edit: Btw, the WIP was done with this patch, but the odd thing is that when run on a 1.5 WITHOUT the patch, it desyncs at an earlier point, when I get hit by the snail for the first time. Which means 3 different behaviors of the game on this stage depending on the version of FCEUX >.>

Found a faster Stage 2 OOB than what the TAS does https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avx9B46To8A
