No. But it does make it possible to complete the game without a shield edit: Disregard this statement, it turned out to be false

It was already possible with the hammer. But if it's possible as a child, you can beat the game without a shield as a child. btw This trick make me wonder where else there is that kind of platform, it could end up being quite useful in other categories.

Probably for an AD TAS, but it wouldn't effect any% because you can't ledge clip as child

I'm guessing the chicken was far enough on the inside edge of the railing to count as being in the pen. Matter of pixels? I don't think this was known about, should save time in TAS depending on chicken placement.

Yeah, that should save a few frames in a TAS, I think. Nice.

This is by far the best RTA I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing.

All the countless hours he spent on his runs definitely paid off in the end. Hopefully runs like this will motivate more people to be involved in the speedrunning community (TAS and Non-TAS).

Little PSA: Bizhawk has had a lot of fixes and improvements recently and it is now a looooot better than mupen-rr and imo perfect for TASing. There are a few things to note on how to set it up. 1. Go to "Config -> Profiles" and select "Tool-assisted Speedruns" 2. Go to "Config -> Customize -> Advanced" and select "Frame advance buttons skips non-input frames" 3. Under "N64" select "Mupen style lag" 4. Go to "N64 -> Plugins" and select "Glide64" und "Active video plugin 5. Selecte the "Glide64"-Tab, select "Zelda Corona fix", select "Motion Blur", deselect "Disasble dithered alphas", deselect "Disable GLSL combiners" and finally click save 6. Go to "Tools -> Virtual Pad" and activate "Options -> Autoload" Now you should probably close bizhawk so that your settings get permanently saved. If sucks when you crash it by messing around in RAM and hadn't saved your settings before. I speak from experience. Reopen it and you are ready to TAS! Also note, that unlike mupen, on Bozhawk you can still use your keyboard for inputs, even if the virtual controller is open.

Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.

Or somehow make warping directly to the credits faster than beating ganon.

Yeah. Cosmo was talking in his last stream about if gannonless was faster, it would be considered any%, but that it's in its own category because it's slower.

One of the last things he says is "Spider-Waffle is rolling in his grave now". Thank you Cosmo! You are a funny guy. That run is so insanely amazing. I always thought of pydoyks as the superior realtime OoT-runner. Justifying it with reasons such as he used "old slower routes" and a "slower version of the game", but this run right here by cosmo is above anything previously done in OoT by anyone. I doubt pydoyks or anyone else can beat it unless a major new discovery is made. Thanks again Cosmo if you are reading this. I watched the original video of your run multiple times and it's even better with your epic commentary.

It's a reference to http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=323689#323689 which is really hilarious in hindsight.

With the swordless-route I guess it will be a race now between the usual suspects for the new any% TAS.
