1) Made sure I was running a revision which has ps1 stable enough. 2) Made sure I had the required bios 3) Made sure I was running the cue/ccd file 4) Played the game That's literally it, it's not rocket science.

Sorry but this part is confusing me. Can we get a step by step instruction? As of now I have the m3u file set up in the same folder as my cue files. The m3u file loads and plays fine in BizHawk but I have no idea what you mean by the rest. In virtual pad I don't see anything about disc swapping: http://puu.sh/dx2Le/66657d18e9.png

Stretch the Virtual Pad Window to the Right. It's hidden there.

I tried launching the emulator from command prompt but that didn't work.

christ is this thread going to become 100% this. read stdout.txt and stderr.txt for diagnostic information, probably about a missing bios.

I think I'm gonna need some sort of tutorial video on how to use it. I never used command line emulators before.

Can someone PM me a link to a compiled build? I would like to give some PAL discs a try when I get the chance.

If someone had the patience and time, perhaps it would be a good idea to provide a YouTube video tutorial of how to create a compiled build? (that or, as Beed28 suggested, offer a link to an already compiled build) edit: Thanks, Solarplex and zeromus, for providing the video tutorial and dropbox links!

Uploading a really shitty tutorial I made of how to compile and play games. Warning: No instructions on actually how to play the video games. Tutorial does not have voice-over, All tutorial instructions will be written here. Edit: Watch this full screen 1080p. I'm not making some fancy tutorial yet. If you can read this video in anything lower, congrats you're a super-human. Link to video 1. Download Necessary Items (Mednafen, MedGui, Bios', Visual Studio Express) 2. Extract Everything / Install VS Express 3. Place Bios' (include the ones found in MedGui into your Mednafen folder!) in Mednafen Folder (I placed them in both the main folder and in /firmware. MedGui wants you to place the firmware in the main mednafen folder, NOT in /firmware folder but it doesn't hurt to have them everywhere. 4. Open up MedGui, Select your Mednafen Folder as the path when it asks. 5. Select 'PSX' and then click the button I pressed to open game in any format. 6. double click on the green colored box around the game title. At the bottom of MedGui, there is an Exclamation Mark (!). This is the log file, this will tell you what the problem is when something doesn't start. Q: Where the hell do I find scph5501.bin?! A: Guess what? All bin files can be scph5501.. as I'm told, but you can use the one provided by MedGui.

r8548 and r8549 (about an hour ago) should allow you to use Mac :) You may have to wait for tomorrow for a new compiled version to be ready on the daily link. Or you can compile it yourself right now!

Cool. I have a MacBook Pro I can test it on but on Christmas Day I'm getting my first ever iMac and I can't wait to make Bizhawk copies of our current TAS movies on my Mac!

I'm running the latest revision on the USA bios. I got it working. The sound seems a little choppy and the frame rate gets slower sometimes.

Ok. I noticed that Spyro 1 also lagged when a lot of Polys were on the screen. I wasn't sure if it was normal or not. Pretty sure the game never dropped in FPS.
