This is my first TAS, and actually my first post (didn't know the forum existed before I started my run), but here is my finished product for anyone to review and critique. http://www.sendspace.com/file/m228nr Since this was my first attempt, and I'd never played this game before I started TASing it, there wasn't much level planning or precision (at least on the first level), but I'm not sure if it's worth my time to retry before I submit (if I even try to). Have a look and let me know what you think, and please try to be constructive. It is definitely a boss-heavy game, which makes it a little dull to watch unfortunately. Buuuuut the sidescrolling water level might make a fun little stand alone movie, just for 2 minutes of combos and fun. Anyway, let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions for a game for my 2nd try? (if I don't try a rerecord of this one) Thanks all!

Heeeey, my first post ever! Nostalgia trip! Kurabupengin, I submitted a completed movie, but cancelled it when it was clear the game didn't lend itself to a very entertaining TAS. I understand the judging rules have changed over the past few months or a year, so it might be vault material now. Here ya go: http://tasvideos.org/1346S.html

I'm going to be trying to TAS this game, as we don't have one on the site, although I notice there has been a cancelled TAS (http://tasvideos.org/1346S.html). There's a conventional Speed Run on SDA that I'll use for inspiration. It seems from the previous attempt and the SDA speedrun that Easy mode is the best, as the only difference is the hit points for the bosses.

Really? I coulda sworn playing the game in easy mode locked you out of the final stage.

I think this game had an existing thread. Can somebody merge it please?

There doesn't seem to be an extra stage in hard mode. I've just watched the previous submission on hard mode (http://tasvideos.org/1346S.html), and the one on SDA (http://speeddemosarchive.com/JoeAndMac.html) on easy mode, and both have a stage inside the dinosaur with two bosses (the second one seems to be a girl who then turns into a devil. Kurabupengin, I did a search for an existing thread before I started this one, but it's possible I missed it.

Huh, okay. I think I recall the skeleton boss actually having a different pattern in easy mode. So... ...are you going for any% or 100%? 1P, 2P, or 2P Super Mode?

I will make any% run with JP ROM, snes9x v1.51. The Japanese ROM is faster at title screen. However I feel like 2P run is entertaining, but takes too much time.
i think i got banned again... I don't know if I can do TASing at the moment. May in summer or something? Soon-ish... Aka. Chuterix, formerly ChutacoackoTAS (did I even address that name?) Check out my RTA's and TASes here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCx6JXd3XDSkJqREaLQDYlDg P.S. I have school on weekdays unless break or something. So I will not read messages until the weekends or until further notice.

Link to video Joe & Mac TAS in 2018 It was made by Josh Trierweiler. However this run is a little bitty sub-optimal.

WIP 1 (Level 1) WIP 2 (Level 2, Level 3, Level 4 & Level 5) (Available via this movie file) WIP 3 (Level 5, Level 6, Level 7, Level 8) (Unavailable) WIP 4 (Level 9, Level 10) (Unavailable) Reply to me if I missed any levels. Also, I am no longer working on that TAS WIP, because I've found out that when rolling, you can keep your momentum before landing by letting go of the button when on a ledge.

Found this TAS a while ago: Link to video Since I already TASed the second Joe & Mac game years ago, why not TASing the first game too? Well I was interested on this game a long time ago but I never tried to TAS and I quickly forgot it due to several other games I was more interested to TAS, obviously. Here's a WIP, with 5 stages done: https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638159941363021611 Encode: Link to video This WIP uses USA version while the other video uses Japanese version (which gains time on the title screen for about 1~2 seconds). Joe & Mac 1 looks straightforward but there's a lot of optimization I've managed to squeeze, found some interesting tricks on the full TAS mentioned above while discovering new tricks, as well as new strategies for some of the bosses.
My homepage --Currently not much motived for TASing as before...-- But I'm still working.
