https://github.com/TASVideos/BizHawk/releases I can download the latest build just fine, but I need the previous versions too. I only see download links for their respective source codes, not the builds. How can I get the previous versions now?

We moved from SourceForge to GitHub. Due to SourceForge offering up scammy/infecting ads. Unfortunately, the old downloads got nuked.

Do people have the old packages? We should be hosting them somewhere.

v1.1.6 works on my laptop but not on my desktop computer (the one I actually use for gaming). It nags about some Direct 3D 9 thing. Here: http://i.imgur.com/Ea97gx3.png I tried reinstalling Direct 3D 9 and all but it didn't solve the problem. Is there really no way to download older versions anymore? EDIT: oops, Nach ninja'ed me.

Sonia: HOW did you reinstall direct3d9? That part of the check doesnt fail unless you do something completely nuts. You should be using our prerequisite installer. Nach: I have the old packages. What should I do with them?

These links still work: http://tasvideos.org/BizHawk/ReleaseHistory.html Well, until Google Code goes. Google Code's 1.0.4 doesn't exist, but a and b still do. SourceForge's 1.6.0a, 1.6.1, 1.7.0, 1.7.1, 1.7.2, 1.7.2a, 1.7.3, 1.7.4, 1.8.0, 1.8.1, 1.8.2/1.8.3, 1.8.4, 1.9.0, 1.9.1, 1.9.2, 1.9.3, 1.9.4, 1.10.0, 1.11.0, 1.11.1, 1.11.2, 1.11.3, 1.11.4, 1.11.5 doesn't exist. 1.11.2, 1.11.3, 1.11.4 and 1.11.5 are in bold as they exist on GitHub not SourceForge.

I didn't do anything out of the ordinary. I ran Bizhawk prereq 1.3 and it apparently installed everything without problems. Then I ran BizHawk and it didn't work, then I grabbed dxwebsetup.exe from the official Microsoft site and installed it normally. Again, BizHawk didn't work. I don't know why this is happening.

disable your security software and try installing it all again? I'll fix that dialog box to let you try running bizhawk anyway... since after I made that dialog, I've fixed it to gracefully fallback from direct3d failing to initialize. you should also get dependency walker and load C:\windows\syswow64\D3dx9_43.dll and/or C:\windows\system32\D3dx9_43.dll and see if there are any glaring issues

If you can get them to me, I can put them up on the server.

So, I downloaded the aio installer from Sereby Corporation and ran it. Now BizHawk and everything else is working perfectly. Apparently I was missing many things required to make the emulator work. That program saved my life. ^^

uhhh. well, that's weird. i've never heard of dxwebsetup failing even a _manual_ install. There may be something devious wrong with your system. I wish you had tried my other troubleshooting steps first. But at least, can you tell me which "aio installer from sereby corporation" URL you used so if anyone else has this problem, we can try it?

Seems to be fine now after the aio installation. I'm yet to see any problems arising. aio download: http://www.computerbase.de/downloads/systemtools/all-in-one-runtimes/ Sereby's website: https://www.sereby.org/

I wish you had tried my other troubleshooting steps first. Or recorded which installers it thought it needed to run, since it seems to only show packages which are missing. Now we'll never know, and we'll have to wait for someone who is interested in helping solve the problem for others instead of just solving it for themselves. Did you have the same error as sonia? I've never seen that error before, so I assume you just weren't talking about it.

Not sure how much space you have there, but if you need to free some up I still mirror all of those Mac builds myself so you could probably delete them. I don't have direct links and directory list is disabled, but the filename format has never changed. http://projects.sappharad.com/bizhawk_mac/BizHawk_mac_1.x.x.zip where 1.x.x is the version you want, all the way back to 1.6.0. I still have copies of Mac builds all the way back to 1.0.4, but I deleted everything older than 1.6.0 from the server last year because I figured that nobody would want them anyway and I don't pay attention to how much space I have free on the drive. I just checked how much space I have and I actually have a lot so I could upload everything again. I do not recommend downloading older versions.

I was under impression those links are just so that Nach could upload them to tasvideos. But they could be mirrored anyway, because history.

It's not down, directory listing is just disabled, as it should be. Copy the URL, then copy the name of the appropriate BizHawk build from the code block, add it to the end of the URL, and paste it all in a new browser tab/window. Profit!
