About the game:
Crack Down is a 2D game created by Sega and published in arcades in 1989 first and on Genesis in 1990.
This is a 2D Run and Gun game where you need to plant bombs in designated locations then escape.
It has a 1 and a 2 player mode.
Game objectives:
- Emulator used: BizHawk 1.11.8.2 (syncs on 1.11.9)
- Hardest difficulty
- Abuses programming errors
- Luck Manipulation
- Aims for fastest time
- Use death to save time
Important things to know:
- There are 2 weapons: Machine Gun and Rocket Launcher. You can do melee attacks too.
- The Rocket Launcher is mainly used in this run because I can kill more than 1 enemy with 1 rocket.
- Every corner, I try to be stuck for 1 or 2 frames against the wall while walking. This teleports me forward a few pixels, saving a lot of time.
- You can clip into the wall when there is an automatic door. There are also 2 or 3 other useless places where you can enter a wall.
- The camera follows you but you are a bit displaced compared to the camera when you do the corner strat, and it stacks each time you do it.
- The game sometimes lags: In 1 or 2 levels, this is due to the emulator (= The console) which drops a ton of frames, but on some other levels, this is because the game is very badly optimized.
- I chose to do the 1 player mode. 2 player mode would be more entertaining, but it is very slow (about twice as many lag frames).
- When you plant a bomb, You are invincible for a while and you automatically kill enemies when you approach them.
- The big boom item kills all the enemies on screen and gives you a bit of invincibility, but this is very slow.
Explanation:
-About "Useless" kills:
On a few places, I've chosen to kill "useless" enemies. Sometimes there are not even in my way.
I've killed them for various reasons. Mainly because they will move in a very problematic place and if I don't kill them at this moment, I will need to lose a ton of frames later to kill them.
On Stage 4, Act 2, I kill some of these enemies because they are glitched and sometimes they can be teleported to you. This happened 3 times and I've managed to manipulate the RNG without losing a lot of time only for 1... So the only way was to kill them.
-About "Useless" moves:
These moves are most of the time for RNG manipulation.
On Stage 2, Act 1, I walk for a bit in an enemy. This is because I really needed to manipulate the moving of the enemy to kill him.
On Stage 3, Act 4, I enter in a wall for no reason. This is only for entertainment, I needed to wait a bit here.
On Boss Stage, I do a corner strat for no reason. This is because the camera was displaced and I needed to go back to the left to shoot.
-About the 2-3 door:
On Stage 2, Act 3, I need to shoot 7 times on the door. I've choose to open the low door because on the other door, there were 2 enemies to kill before I could open the door.
-About Death Warp:
On Stage 3, Act 2, there are 2 Death Warps which saves me a bit of time.
The first one teleports me soon to a mark (Normally you have to get around).
The second one teleports me soon to the level's end (Normally you have to get around too).
-About Boss Fight:
On the path to kill the boss, there are invisible walls. To destroy them, you need 5 shots.
On the last room, you have to kill the 6 "Dizzy Metal". After this, 6 others will spawn, and you need to kill them again, this will open the door to Mr K.
Mr K only needs one shot to be killed.

GoddessMaria: Hello Arcree, and welcome to TASVideos! As others have pointed out, this TAS is quite well done. Admittedly at first glance, it comes off as confusing but I believe it's just a matter of the game itself rather than the run. The routing and movement shows the care you took into it and audience likes it. Therefore...
Accepting for Moons.
