THE MADLASS SHE ACTUALLY DID IT. SHE DIFFUSED ALL THE BOMBS!

The Stuff:

  • Bios: SCPH5500 (NTSC-J bios)
  • Hardest Difficulty
  • BizHawk 1.11.6 & 2.2.2

Saving on Data 2

The second data slot is the one with the shortest animation.
Time is saved over the period of time on entering that save screen.

The New Bombs

Since some of the bombs are literally the older movies and no need for attention for information we can just skip to talking about the new ones.

Light Bulb (7:30)

Just tape, cut and screw stuff in an order. Also enjoy the dark in the later third.

Jukebox (9:45)

Find the record that has the bomb, it's a quick bomb so not much to say here.

Kotatsu/Futon (14:20)

Railroad Crossing (16:10)

Oh boy this fun gem of a sodding level... Ok.
Pendulums how do they work?
You can delay the timing on when you start the unscrew process of the pendulum contraption but to put simply time will remain the same.
FractalFusion who provided reference got out faster than I did here by a few frames due to the swing of the pendulum.

Casette Tape (18:48)

回る回る回る回る
Straightforward bomb. Just unscrew everything.

Pinball (21:00)

Pendulums... again.

Bento (lunchbox) (25:08)

UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. UP. CUT NOT MOLD.

Sea (27:25)

The game has an underwater level... and of course it has lag...
It's a "maze" type structure with somehow easily identifiable torpedoes...
Also the torpedo has a ticking time-bomb that'll destroy all the water surrounding Japan.

Shadow (30:50)

Don't let the mechanism hit the center else ya dead... it's straightforward.

Possible Improvements

Pendulums. Game is friendly for changing input for the most part you won't get any desyncs when input is updated... except maybe the sea... that's a lag haven but can be adjusted for.

Special Thanks to FractalFusion for the routing on everything this game had to offer and well waiting four years for something.

feos: Compared this with any%. All times either match or are faster in this run (the in-game timer runs backwards). Accepting as full completion.

Because the bomb wasn't explored entirely.

I still don't understand this game at all, but it does amuse me to no end. Thank you for finally finishing this after all my nagging. Yes vote.

Huh. I thought you forgot about this. Oh well, cool that you finished the all bombs TAS finally. BTW, if anyone is wondering what this game is about, I made a few detailed posts years ago starting with: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=429211#429211 Seeing this TAS reminds me again of how far the game goes to troll the player on Hard mode: - Hard mode throws emergency timers everywhere. - The various devices that threaten to set off the bomb get more difficult; a really good example is the pendulum in both Rail Crossing and Pinball Machine; on Easy and Normal, the pendulums don't shake a whole lot. On Hard, they nearly set off the bomb switch just by turning a screw once (and you get timers on them too). - Hint messages are placed in hard-to-find areas (like dead ends). Sometimes they are false and you have to find another message to confirm that. That being said, I do like how a lot of the game works like a logic puzzle (except Gunder which is just rock-paper-scissors, and the last bomb on Hard which is a 50/50 guess). Some of the logic is a little difficult to figure out though (it took me a long time to fully understand the one with the Doppler effect essay in it). Ice Coffee is still an amusing little bomb (EXPLODE, NOT EXPLODE, EXPLODE, NOT EXPLODE, ...). Also teaches you that triangles are important, not just in real life, but video games as well. Finally, for those with an interest in seeing things get destroyed, here is a video showing all the explosion cutscenes. Don't question why things like the Moon, the Pacific Ocean, your own shadow, and other people can all be bombs. Or why an orange explodes like a nuke. Or how an engine bomb causes the Earth to blow up. This is a weird game after all.

Just to also regurgitate old information as well to those that don't know. A colour will be said, either 青 (ao/blue) or 赤 (aka/red). Usually that means the colour to cut. However, on Hard it's "Blue but in reality you're meant to cut Red, but jokes you're actually meant to cut Blue. Oh you cut Blue? Well you failed." Or the other time it was "You're meant to listen to me and actually cut Blue."

Actually. When you account for the intro sequence to the Engine's bomb it's a stage performance in front of an audience. If you fail that bomb you hear members of the crew/audience reacting to your failure and it could be assumed that it was a prop Earth.

I came here to watch bombs get defused, not receive a lecture on relativistic physics in a foreign language.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.
