Link to video So I read something grobo posted like 10 years ago which was disregarded. I ended up using the club knockback to get dan above daring dash speed without it. Dash is 52, this club knockback caps at 61, normal moving speed is 27-28. Thank you grobo I will be using this a bunch more.

So from the looks of it soldier despawn does not work on this emu, so the best alternative would be to spawn 2 soldiers after they all die, wait for them to die, then spawn 2 more. It sucks and loses a bit of time but it's what has to be done unfortunately. The glitch does not work on original ps1 any who.

I have started over again, with some more knowledge and a set in stone route, tried weedling out any potential time to be saved with the route, which include skipping the small sword. I also found out jumping stops the camera from messing up your angle when the camera decides to change position, you can now avoid the little wiggle the game gives you when you try and correct the angle by chain jumping, which for some reason stops the camera from changing analog direction. About the speed glitch--are inputs the same as in medievil 2? I specifically tested it way back and was under the impression I weren't getting anything. Looking at the video I still can't tell whether something out of the ordinary is actually happening there tbh. Anyway, you can clip into the yellow rune cell in gallows gauntlet, but I could never find a way back out. The speed glitch might make it possible, saving a bunch of time by not having to go through the dragon gate whatsoever. Alternatively, I never attempted it with KBDs either, so that's also worth looking into. Oh also it might be possible to clip through the rune gate in the first level. I remember almost getting through on several occasions with just regular movement + zombies. Same goes for the gate in the mausoleum. And the tombstone jump across the moat in return to the graveyard might actually be possible now too. Render me excited lmao GG on the TAS btw!

Pretty much randomly when pushing my face against it. Run straight at the wall right next to where it meets the gate, jump, then try to curve towards the gate (the actual clip happens at the seam). No zombies btw. Never tried to find a setup for it since it never led to anything, so that's all the info I can recall--can't even remember which side of the gate it was done from, or how far from the seam your starting position should be. I'd say it's comparable in precision/difficulty to the fence clip in the second stage, as in you won't even see dan jerking around so it's hard to tell visually how close you are to clipping.

There's really not much I can remember from the top of my head about the second game. Like there were a bunch of useful jumps/clips, but I spent far less time with it than the first game (and that was pre speed glitch on top of that), so my memories aren't as vivid. Things might come back to me tho if I could watch mockups/wips of the levels--like I immediately remembered after watching one of your vids that you can immediately scale the club building entrance in whitechapel to get onto the alley buildings instead of going around, pushing the crate, then climbing. There were like a million jumps/clips in the pumpkin level, pocketwatch early, going straight for the exit trigger in greenwitch, circus skip, etc. Been trying to get into the discord for like half a year now since you guys seem to keep rediscovering stuff that was found a decade ago and was at least mentioned in this or the other thread, but the src invite has been dead since day one, even the updated one.

I have finished, the time improvement is astonishing. It is timed with rta in mind for comparison. The TAS timing will be a little over 21, but I am happy with this run. Link to video

I have been recently working on an all chalice run, which is going to be a very unique speedrun that is not humanly viable. The level order is vastly different and no items are received from the hall of heroes. Rta speedruns receive all items up to the broadsword so you can enchant it and have no problem with item management. This tas will only use the small sword, daggers, club, and drumsticks. Now you may ask how you are able to have the club at pretty much all times and that is from the item replenish glitch. I have routed around this trick to make the drumsticks and club last through out all levels. The goal of this run is to unlock the best ending. Progress WIP #1 WIP #2 WIP #3 Some great levels to watch are return to the graveyard, enchanted earth, pools, and crystal caves for item replenish glitch. Gallows Gauntlet is also under a minute long ;)

So, I am nearing completion. My current time entering Zarok with 100% is 57:xx. This run is going to be over 20 minutes faster than an RTA speedrun, which is a little more than I expected initially.
