So I see. Had to google how to update that, since it hasn't been a problem on any other site previously, thanks.

https://tasvideos.org/3944M Not sure if this is specifically related to the new site, but this publication should be the Ubi Soft game, not Taito.

Fixed.

My only real nitpick with the new site is that votes are shown in Workbench polls before you have voted. I liked the old way of it being hidden and you having to actively show it. I have a bad habit of going with the flow after seeing everyone else voting yes or no

The 'displaymovie' module on people's userpages doesn't seem to show the rating properly. It's stuck at 0/10 for every movie

In addition to the known issues regarding latest posts, I prefer the old style that listed them as topics rather than posts so I could skip past posts I had no interest in. Could this be made into some kind of menu option? Or the default for "posts since last visit"? Or is it already there somewhere? Edit: Oh yeah, and there's some bug with YouTube embedding. When I'm viewing latest posts (I haven't checked elsewhere), it seems to sometimes embed whatever video is furthest down the page, or something like that. For example, currently among the latest posts is a WIP for Strider and a WIP for Prince of Persia. Under the glitch, the Strider video would be embedded in both posts. I say would be because as of right now TASVideos is behaving itself and both videos are correct. Maybe it's been fixed or maybe it has something to do with how the videos are embedded. Whatever it may be, I thought I should bring it up regardless. Edit 2: Caught an example of the YouTube embedding glitch: Edit 3: After editing my post and refreshing Latest Posts, this instance of the glitch went away. I'm not sure whether refreshing the page or my edit had anything to do with it. Also, I'm using PageSize=30 to view the 30 most recent posts. Maybe that has something to do with it.

There are a number of wiki pages and forum posts that load images from media.tasvideos.org, many of which are now broken. For example, at Wiki: TextFormattingRules#ReferencesLinks:

https://media.tasvideos.org/guidelines/entertain.gif is now 302 → 404 Not Found. What it used to look like: https://web.archive.org/web/20210421212329/https://tasvideos.org/TextFormattingRules.html#ReferencesLinks. There are more examples at /Search?SearchTerms=media.tasvideos.org. For example, Wiki: GameResources/DOS/Jetpack#NamingConventions has many missing images in a table, like https://media.tasvideos.org/jetpack/guy.png. However, Post #184070 shows that some media.tasvideos.org images still work, like https://media.tasvideos.org/lsamson1091.png.
media links have mostly been moved to files. All wiki pages should be updated accordingly, and forum posts (that had non-broken images before go-live

Thanks, that's great. One small bug: revision 71 of Text Formatting Rules fixes the example markup to refer to files.tasvideos.org, but revision 70 had already removed the live markup for the image.

Restored the pic.

Can you do something to quotes in the forums? With the new site, you get no visual difference to the new post, just text at the top saying "x wrote:" and even that bit of text has the exact same format as everything else. This makes the forums very uncomfortable to read.

1) In addition to discussing the changes in the type of recent messages since the last visit. How do I change the latest posts to the latest topics? By the way, I've always been surprised that topics go from the newest to the oldest. Is it possible to reverse the order? 2) I can't view any topic on my smartphone (Samsung Galaxy). Each character of the message is positioned vertically, which increases the length of the page to incredible. Looks like T a s v i d e o s

When I use posts since last visit search, it's sorting in chronological order, rather than reverse chronological order as it was in the previous iteration of the site. Furthermore, it's returning in terms of posts rather than topics. Also because my session is apparently infinite, I now have 50 pages of unread posts, going back 23 days, despite having visited the site several times since early January. I'm sure there's something I'm doing wrong, but I have no idea what.

I also have had these problems, and i similarly would like the "most recent" list be topics instead of posts. Granted, i haven't spent much time exploring on the new site to see if there are settings to change this presentation. But the fact that the site doesn't seem to recognize when i actually last visited (and only show posts since then) is rather annoying.

When I originally designed the "post since last visit", I had the cookie timeout set to 1 hour. Which made it work pretty good for this feature. Then people wanted the cookie to be a lot longer. The downside is this behavior. What's holding up the improvement of this is a performant way to track everything you are doing so that I know the last time you "visited" is. This was a feature that could really bog down the old site. My question is that if the definition of "last visit" were more accurate, does the "post since last visit" feature work? Or are there other issues with that page? Follow up question is if the "recent posts" page had the same UI as "post since last visit" would that be better or at least acceptable?

I note that right-clicking on "Movies" or "Articles" in the screen header, then clicking "open in new tab" opens a new tab with the same page as I'm currently on, and not with movies or articles respectively. That strikes me as a bug.

If I press the search button and search for "super mario", I get a list of ten game results, but this list does not contain Super Mario Bros or Super Mario World or Super Mario 64. And that's probably what I'm looking for if I'm typing those search terms. I think this would benefit from some "exact title match" feature, listing exact title matches first and then going on to text matches. https://tasvideos.org/GameGroups/8 does not appear to be sorted by anything. It would make it easier to find things if this were alphabetical, and if official ROMs were either boldfaced or listed first.

Sorry about the delay in responding, I actually completely lost this thread in the shuffle. As I mentioned above, I would prefer if the ordering were by reverse chronological ordering and if results were displayed as threads rather than posts. As it is, I have to click into the thread anyway to see context, so I don't see the value of dumping a bunch of unrelated posts on the same page. And because the results aren't really clearing themselves (they didn't either on the old site, to be fair) having the sort be in reverse chronological order makes more sense because it shows me the most recent posts and I can "dig" as much as I care to. What might also be useful is a "mark forum as read" button
Follow up question is if the "recent posts" page had the same UI as "post since last visit" would that be better or at least acceptable?
I am not certain I follow the question. AFAICT, the difference between "recent posts" and "posts since last visit" is that "recent posts" have a hard time out (whatever recent means), and they're sorted in reverse chronological order. Anyway, my gripes are surely not terribly important either way. I'm a long term, but not terribly active user. I just thought I'd voice my desires because that's what this thread is for.

Does it depend on cookies, then? Could explain why it doesn't work for me, since I have my browser clear them upon exiting. It did work on the old site, though.

I'm assuming that the new post indicators are the "yellow document" icons that I'm seeing now? If so, they don't seem to be clickable, which makes them a lot less useful than in the old forum.

Yes, tracking the posts themselves is a whole different feature. It requires a larger amount of tracking, and for that the hardware we have is not prepared yet. I do hope this new feature is not that "less useful" than the old site.
