KUBO 2: L'Aventurier Courageux (English - KUBO 2: The Brave Adventurer) is the sequel to the NES homebrew game KUBO. It was made in 2019 by a French child and his supportive father. It's a short platformer set in a desert in which the cowboy turtle KUBO has to find his way out and retrieve the ruby at the end.
This is a 46 frame improvement over my first ever submission thanks to not having to slow down in the ladybug room. Here are the improvements:
- I saved 12 frames on screen 7 due to not having to stop after killing the ladybug.
- ViGadeomes found a new strategy for screen 11, originally saving 24 frames. I managed to improve on his strategy by a further 8 frames, for a total of 32.
- ViGadeomes also saved 1 frame on screen 12 from a better ladder grab, and due to this improvement, he also saved 1 lag frame at the end of screen 14.
I've also added Samsara as a co-author since she helped me optimise my first submission for this game.

feos: Claiming for judging.
feos: Replacing with the latest improvement linked above and accepting over [5000] NES KUBO 2: L'Aventurier Courageux by LoganTheTASer in 00:26.26.

Link to video 1080p temp encode. Please add to submission No vote. Nothing that interesting.
I like to comment on submissions and look around the site. You have probably seen me before (if you have been around for a while) either on the site, Discord, or any other social media. I recently took up making temporary encodes for new submissions. Also, I never forget to greet Tompa wherever I find him! I managed to save 24 frames on the 11th screen shown in the TAS by jumping early at the end of the 10th screen to not bump on the high wall and skip falling all the way down. I then saved 1 frame on the 12th screen by grabbing the ladder 1 pixel higher without losing time. Here is my improvement imported into BizHawk 2.8 : User movie #638113223177048496. Other than that, everything else fits to me.

This is great that you've been able to save more time from my part ! But I verified your inputs and my 1 frame improvement on the 12th screen isn't there anymore :/. So I fixed it and thanks to this, an extra-lag that appeared in the transition between the 14th and the 15th screen in your last improvement isn't there anymore ! So technically a 2 frames improvement over the last one. (Editing the submission text)

Is this safe to judge or are further improvements being worked on?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
