I decided to finally watch this after you mentioned it, and after seeing the full run, I have to agree with you! This is a great Stars candidate!

How does it compare with [2027] SNES Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest "102%" by Dooty, NxCy & Comicalflop in 1:21:31.88?
Comparing the tases as a whole they look pretty different imo.

I suggest we give the 101% TAS it's own Star class. DKC games don't have that much Star runs anyway.
I still learn more about English. https://www.youtube.com/user/McBobX100

Yeah, I checked and the only Star run in the entire original trilogy is the 102% TAS.

Do they feature completely different speedrun techniques too? A good example was the NES Mega Man series:

I've seen plenty of positive feedback for [6755] Flash Snailiad "100%, no parallel universes" by Mikewillplays & Dimuslv in 03:48.75 and even some requests to send it to Stars. I took a look at it and really liked it myself! Any objections?

Will old games retain former priority when being judged? Because I see the tendency that a perfect receipt to get a Star is to TAS a side-scroller Flash game which simply wasn't made with super-fast mouse movements and 999 FPS provisioned by libTAS in mind
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

How many Flash TASes are there which do this and have a star?
http://www.youtube.com/Noxxa <dwangoAC> This is a TAS (...). Not suitable for all audiences. May cause undesirable side-effects. May contain emulator abuse. Emulator may be abusive. This product contains glitches known to the state of California to cause egg defects. <Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits <adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. OK, how does this relate to this TAS? This TAS is modified to run at a LOWER framerate than normal because it desynced at anything higher.

I think [4585] PICO8 CELESTE Classic by FlyingPenguin223, RichConnerGMN, cominixo, ikuyo, Meep, Snoo23, gonengazit, Lord Snek, Akliant, Beeb, Warspyking & RoundUpGaming in 01:42.767 should be starred. It's extremely technically impressive. Several new tools were created specifically for this TAS and the level of optimization is far beyond most of the TASes submitted to this site, thanks to the combined effort of a dozen authors and the brute forcer "Searcheline". It also is the highest rated PICO 8 TAS, and won the exotic platforms TAS of 2022.

[3474] GBA Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance "all furniture, best ending" by hellagels in 13:45.57 This movie has tons of super-fast action combined with many zipping glitches to create a really entertaining run. The average rating is also pretty high, and it won GBA TAS of 2017.

One movie I was extremely surprised to discover wasn't starred is [2513] SNES Super Mario World "arbitrary code execution, playaround" by Masterjun in 02:25.19. On top of being entertaining inside and outside the TAS itself and being critically acclaimed, this is a very important movie when it comes to the glitches used (it's literally the first TAS on the site with the "Executes arbitrary code" tag). Maybe it even deserves the ? block symbol, like the Pokémon Yellow ACE TAS.

It is still the oldest active TAS with this tag, but about 6 now-obsoleted TASes were made before, including a SMW game end glitch TAS using the same ACE method as this movie and an older Pokemon Yellow ACE playaround.

Shoot, I forgot that the filter system automatically filters out obsolete TASes. Still, I think my point about this movie's importance still stands
