After witnessing a very mysterious submission by Ku_Zheng_Kai, suppose I should put in my effort into TASing a arcade game for the very first time. Partly because there's rarely any TASes on this and its layout is similar to the Step Champ arcade and playstation versions by the same developers Konami. For reference, take a look at the two side by side:
Title Screen
Gameplay wise
Yes, all of these images are from both games. Only difference about the two are the player layouts below, Step champ's Player 1 has a light/dark red while Anime Champ's Player 1 stays exactly like Player 2 and 3s.
Now it's time we get into a little bit of info about the game. Anime Champ is a 2000 Japan arcade party game developed by Konami. It features various anime titles from the 60s and 70s, mashing up together with a fast paste, quick thinking and action packed based minigames! One of the five anime collections sorta reminds me of Astro Boy, another having a character wearing what looks like Mario's clothing, which you'll see somewhere in this TAS (realizing that this was long before Mario).

Decision for Two Players

Although the minigames can still be finished with using 1 player, I still found it necessary to use both Player 2 and Player 3, to crush the first player/CPU, since in most videos on YouTube, Player 1 seems to always be used and toggled with. And the use of two players was recommended for much of the TASes made out of Bishi Bashi. I made sure most minigames were completed within record time.

Stage 1

Basically just smash Red and Blue.

Stage 2

Prevent the desert boys from eatting your birthday cake.

Stage 3

Pick the correct hero to fit in with the situation.

Stage 4

We bully Player 1 from whipping spots off the dojo floor.

Stage 5

Jump on allegators and finish in record time

Stage 6

Whatever the heck is going on here.

Stage 7

Pretty much red light green light

Stage 8

Sing along to the chinese new year song.

Stage 9

Catch as many fruits as you can.

Stage 10

I guess transform into certain costumes?

Stage 11

Poor equally amounts of Hot and Cold water to keep eyeball guy chill.

Stage 12

MASH THROUGH AS MANY DOORS AS POSSIBLE!

Stage 13

Simon Says, Baby edition

Stage 14

TOUCH THE SKY

Stage 15

Be a gentlemen and chomp wood.

Stage 16

Help the poor boy swim to freedom.

Stage 17

LET'S GO GAMLING

Stage 18

Is he okay?

Stage 19

Don't look, just mash.

Stage 20

Rise the correct flag

Stage 21

Read the young boy's mind

Stage 22

Same as the other 3 stages.

Stage 23

Raise the follow flower wagging.
HAHA, that was fun. Did you have fun? I hope so, but Player 1 didn't this time around.

Other comments

Someone discovered that the main mode has ANOTHER and REVERSE option, which I was a little curious another the latter option. Thinking maybe there's a secret extra mode attached in this game, but nah, they're both just the same order of games from the main mode. Disappointing.
There's also quiz games, which are difficult to play if you don't know Japanese as well as (some of us).

Suggested Screenshot

I guess you publishers should decide. I don't have too much of a unique screenshot to use for this movie.

CoolHandMike: Claiming for judging.
CoolHandMike: Replacing file with an improvement.
CoolHandMike: Movie is acceptably optimized and syncs. Since this is 2 players this would fit into the Alternative class. Note that there is one rom that Bizhawk says is a bad dump, but after playing back the movie file I did not notice any sound or graphical issues in game.
Accepting to Alternative for goal "2 players".
Good job!

despoa: Processing...

Liked the wizard minigame where the guy randomly turns around and blasts lightning everywhere lol. Very unusual how the art style seems to change around a lot. Wonder how this game was produced.

From off the top of my head, I’m quite curious about how this game was even possible to make, too. Sure, Konami probably had the fair use copyright infringement to use anime from those eras and smash them together into a whole Arcade game. And did you also notice that boy from the wizard game in those familiar clothes we see in today’s image? Basically we had a Mario way before Mario was the world’s famous Nintendo character.

Huh I had not noticed that. I guess the character looks different enough, but the clothes and the colors looks really close to Mario.

Pretty fun, wild run similsr to Bishi Bashi. It's interesting to hear some of its history like characters from old anime.

Please lmk a easier way to produce screenshots on a submission, I was having a bit of trouble trying to put 'em in.
You have to upload them to an image-sharing site first. It'll generate a link starting with https:// so others can see it (anything starting with file:/// can only be viewed by you). Imgur is usually good though their hotlinks don't display in all countries (including the UK). Other options include Flickr, PostImage, and Freeimage.host, all free and most (all?) shouldn't require accounts.
