When logged in, the username in the navbar is highlighted (has the CSS active class) at /Profile/UserFiles:
<a class="nav-link active" title="Manage" href="/Profile"><i class="fa fa-user d-inline"></i>&nbsp;Sand</a>
The username is not highlighted at other pages I looked at, for example /Forum, /GameResources, /Subs-List, and /UserFiles/Upload:
<a class="nav-link" title="Manage" href="/Profile"><i class="fa fa-user d-inline"></i>&nbsp;Sand</a>
I don't know if it's intended. I initially thought the highlighted username was a notification indicator, or something like that.

It's highlighted because it links to the page you're currently looking at (though only logically—the URLs differ). The other items in the site header do the same.

i wanted to see all movies from game group but i can only see the list of games and see movies individually, is there a way i can see all yugioh and digimon publications in all platforms?
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

I have been thinking about adding a role in our Discord server that is affected if someone from staff for a certain position (Moderator for example) leaves it, by adding "Legacy" to it (Legacy Moderator for same example). Just as a symbolic way to show that the user has also contributed to the site in a way or another.

Don't know if these are bugs. If you are only interested in the hong kong bug, avoid step 0 and step 4: Bug 1: Hong Kong publication shows up in search Bug 2: If you are logged out and you are on the error page from whatever page (url bar showing 5756M in this case) and then logging in, you go to page Error. The page Movie #5756 (Hong Kong 97 movie which has been unpublished because of the corpse) shows up in search. 0. Log out 1. Go to searchbar (top right) and type "Hong kong" 2. Click on first Wiki page with the strings "5756M Hong Kong 97'' is a bootleg SNES shoot 'em up and one of the most " 3. You will see the Error page with the url bar saying https://tasvideos.org/5756M Status Code 404 - Not Found 4. Click on login and login, you will be routed to https://tasvideos.org/Error Status Code 200 - OK edit2: you can read the whole text by searching the last known fragments of that page. for example, I'm currently at ". It takes place shortly after Hong Kong's sovereignty is transferred" then searching for this I get " takes place shortly after Hong Kong's sovereignty is transferred from the United Kingdom to the People " and so on.

It looks just like any other nonexistent movie e.g. Movie #9001. The PublicationContent wiki page just hasn't been removed. edit: It's now gone, and Masterjun has added a step to the unpublication process so it won't be forgotten again.

I request that searching by emulators be added to Wiki: Subs-List. That way, I can search for submissions that use a specific emulator without having to guess the emulator that was used.

Science publication processes have retractions: flagging of any submitted work as flawed to such an extent that it cannot be trusted. We intend to adopt a similar process. A Publication can be retracted if it is found to violate Site Rules, Terms of Service or contains some otherwise major issue that means it should have not passed the submission process to begin with. A retracted movie will have its publication pulled, and its Submission retroactively rejected, with an explanation on why the movie was pulled. Please note that movies can only be Retracted if the issue with them cannot be handled with the currently in place obsoletion chains: any movie that is obsoleted is still valuable to the site. We're working on the details of this policy, but for now, we encourage everyone to speak up, via the submission threads or contacting Staff, when you think a movie that has been published should not be. Expect a formal change to Site rules in the coming weeks.
It's been 6 months, and the retraction feature still hasn't been implemented. Is it still being worked on?

Wiki: ForumMarkup?revision=28 mentions a [wip] tag, but there is no [wip]. It's actually called [userfile]. Wiki: ForumMarkup?revision=28#BrokenTags says [list=] and [hr] are broken, but they work fine as far as I can tell.

Fixed but that page looks hopelessly outdated because we never looked at it after the new site was launched. Would you like editor privs?

I noticed now there is a tab on the top of the page "Community", which I have to click on before I can click on "Forum". Can we please revert this so there is a direct link to the Forums. I'm sure it is said in many best practices guides for web design to allow site visitors to get to there destination page in as few clicks as possible. Yes, I can bookmark the forums, but I'm just saying, it is now more of a hassle to get to the forums from the front page.

#banner .dropdown:hover .dropdown-menu { display: block; } would make the navbar hoverable, bringing it back down to 1 click. I played with it for a bit and didn't notice any disparity between the cursor position and which menu is opened.

Old navbar layout required far more clicks for the majority of destinations, considering the amount of important pages not even in the old navbar.

Separating it out of Community would just put another thing on the already lengthened navbar, and I don't want to lengthen it any more than it already has been. I feel like that'd be a worse user experience than one more click needed to access one part of the site. I'm open to suggestions that help save the space, though.

I haven't checked but I imagine it would have no effect (2 taps required), as touchscreens don't really have a hover.

Well the 'home' and TASvideos logo buttons are right next to each other and do the same thing, so maybe 'home' can become 'forum.' Yoshi Rulz idea also sounds good.

IIRC, Home needs to stay for some underlying code reason I don't remember offhand. There's been some talk on Discord over it as well, mainly internally, and I'm realizing my space concerns don't apply to the majority of the userbase, so in all honesty it's probably not that bad to move it back out. Any objections to the following changes?
  • Forum back out on its own tab and not a dropdown.
  • Rename Community back to Chat since the remaining options are all live chat focused. Also saves a bit of space, so huge win for me and the 3 others who have the longest navbar!!!
  • Expand "Communities" out to something like "Other TAS Communities" to be more descriptive.

Turns out :hover is still broken on mobile, so that's not viable without some JS hack to only apply it on desktop. Previous discussion on removing "Home": TASVideos/tasvideos#2156
