Am a solo Moroccan TASer! I tend to TAS random ROMHacks, more on my channel @null_y34r1

Samsara: Updated the game name to reflect that it's a hack, removed "any%" as it's unnecessary for the branch, and added Asumeh's temp encode.

nymx: Claiming for judging.
nymx: Rejecting this submission, since I'm getting no response to improvements brought up by Asumeh.

For those trying to replay the run, the hack is referred to as Genyuu / 幻遊マリオ. The patch can be downloaded here. I'll start off with a note that in most Super Mario Bros. runs, you don't need to provide extended input after touching the final axe in the run (in this case, the one in World 8-4); just ending on the first frame Mario's X speed drops to 24 (or before all sprites, including Mario, disappear for one frame; in this case, that frame would be 72839, so your run's time should be 20:11.987) after touching the axe is sufficient enough. Okee doke... (that didn't take long actually) Here's my review. (And please, PLEASE note when I say this, but this is not meant to discourage you bro; it's supposed to help you, let you learn and adapt, and overall get better. Please stop me if I'm being a bit too harsh though.) Welcome to TASVideos, Toploader. This is a very nice effort! It definitely shows you know much of the essential techniques of the original game to make a neat-looking run like this. I loved how you were able to get the full flagpole glitches (FFPGs) in 2-2 and 7-1 as well, amazing work. You picked a great hack to submit as well, so I'll give ya that. That said, I have some issues with it...
  • You can use Left + Right (it's preferred here actually); no Left + Right is actually "RTA Rules" play... and we're a little more than RTA here.
  • For a few spots in a few levels, you sometimes deviate from the regular path when, in my eyes, it looks perfectly fine to go through normally without any addition slowdowns [2-4, 3-1, 5-2, 6-1, 6-4]. On some other levels, you ended with more than one firework (by ending with the in-game timer with XX3 or XX6), which also loses valuable time [5-1, 6-1, 8-1, 8-3].
  • And on other parts, they seemed a bit "sloppy" or unoptimal, when they could be better refined. I'm also noticing that your flagpole glitches (FPGs) are not the fastest they can be, since you slow down a bit too much and jump too high. Try to minimize that when doing these techniques. This is not in the case of your entire run, which, again, I praise for the overall effort you put into it. But it's not exactly close to 100% yet (or at least, not near-perfect).
  • Some notes in your submission text would help everyone (including me) understand why you did what you did; it's especially okay to address some possible corrections you could've made that you didn't notice before (not including mine, of course; it's all up to you). Considering you're from Morocco, if English is not your strong suit, you can always translate from your native language using online websites (DeepL is one of the best options thus far).
(A bit too much?) Don't let all of that stop you though... You've done very well for what it's worth. Just keep working on it and improving, and you'll have a published run in no time. And you can ask around, including in the TASVideos Discord server, if you have any questions or concerns. No worries though... I liked what I saw in your run for the most part. I'll give you the saving grace here and vote Yes.
I try to check in whenever possible, at least when I'm feeling it. Look out for yourself and each other; there's quite a bit going on.

Made an encode since I couldn't find one, just so it's more accessible for everyone :) Link to video

Hello! am actually really happy to hear opinions! this is my first time uploading a TAS to this platform, so I understand some things I did weren't perfect, and I promise it'll be better next time. First, I appreciate the corrections, I don't know the techniques of Left + Right yet so that's why i didn't use it. Second, Deviating was actually for a reason, like in 2-4, going to normal route I would not be able to outrun the last fire bar, so I clip inside the wall to reach the chain top faster, for 3-1 going normally is impossible to reach the descending platform and jump to the upper one, that's why I have to move Mario to the right so he's early to land, other levels also had a reason and finally, I have to admit my way of FFGs was never optimal, manipulating subpixels does require some planning for efficiency so it'll try to get used to it, and I'll try to also keep my eye on fireworks the next time. Overall I'll improve it and come back again, thanks for everything!

Ok. I have been reviewing the changes that Asumeh has mentioned. I may not see everything, but I have recognized some of them as potential improvements. Here is what I would like to do...can anything be done in a timely manner to bring this up to speed? If not, you have the option of canceling your submission, otherwise...I am forced to reject this submission. Please let me know as soon as you can.
I recently discovered that if you haven't reached a level of frustration with TASing any game, then you haven't done your due diligence. ---- SOYZA: Are you playing a game? NYMX: I'm not playing a game, I'm TASing. SOYZA: Oh...so its not a game...Its for real? ---- Anybody got a Quantum computer I can borrow for 20 minutes? Nevermind...eien's 64 core machine will do. :) ---- BOTing will be the end of all games. --NYMX

Ok...I've given you 5 days to respond and I'm getting nothing. So here is the deal...Asumeh has mentioned a number of improvements and I can see some, but just not all. The competition is high with SMB style games and small situations become more questionable than less popular games. Because you have not responded with an answer to these concenrs, I'm rejecting this submission.
