I'm curious: Did you test ways of avoiding the slowdows from "water" sections. For example, at roughly 1:14 in the YouTube encode, it looks it might be possible to go above the red walls surrounding the water. Even if it required a wall jump to get over the upper portion, I wonder if the normal horizontal speed might make up for the lost time of slower swimming speed.
