I’m using the same ROM file. While the screen looks much nicer and brighter in the ePSXe emulator, the intro screen in the Bizhawk emulator looks dark and poor. Why is there this difference even though I’m using the same ROM file? And can I get the same bright and beautiful display in Bizhawk? I’ve tried adjusting a lot of settings but haven’t been able to get it to work. Can you help me? this is ePSXe view: and... this is Bizhawk view:

Because you have a completed save in the ePSXe instance.

So, is there absolutely no chance I can get the same view on the BizHawk platform?

There is a method that can be done, but no one has done a write up about it, and it's kind of a pain to get working when stuff doesn't work correctly...

I'm going to do a TAS in Bizhawk. Once I'm done, I'll record it as a video. I'm thinking I might upload it to YouTube. But I'm not sure yet. I'm really obsessed with this screen look. I definitely want to achieve that bright look in Bizhawk. Seriously, is there no way I can do this?

First of all, you'll have to start the TAS from a save as described above. If you want to copy the save file from ePSXe to BizHawk, try the following:
  • Get MemcardRex, a PSX save editor. Latest version on GitHub.
  • Open your ePSXe save file in one tab, and your BizHawk SaveRAM file in a second tab. (I'll edit in more details when I get back to the PC with SaveRAM files to check.)
  • Copy the save from your ePSXe file to your BizHawk SaveRAM file, then save the SaveRAM file.
If done correctly you should see it in BizHawk when you next start the game.

Just as a note, you cannot use this method if you're looking at submitting a movie, you require having a verified movie, that unlocks all the characters/endings and save the game then.

Here's the trick: you have to beat the game with all the characters and unlock their bosses one by one. When I did that, the Tekken 2 intro screen looked exactly the way I wanted it to. I didn't need to adjust any other settings.

...That's exactly what I stated.

what spike meant is that if you plan on submitting a TAS here on the site with that title screen, you need a verification movie that will generate that same SRAM on its end. if you dont want to TAS the gane and instead just want that title screen when playing casually, what you did it enough more information at https://tasvideos.org/MovieRules#WhenTasing

For now, I've decided against the idea of uploading a TAS video. Thank you for your help. But I might start a thread on the forum later if I have any other questions.
