Happy that Belgium won against the USA! Next up, they're facing....Spain. That's proooobably gonna be tough, but I believe.
Belgium hasn't been up against any good teams. That's how they were able to go so up. It's easy for Belgium to score some quick goals when Belgium has been up against teams that never really knew what they were doing. It'll be a match of skill, and with how Spain has been playing, guess it'll be a game of skill

They struggled hard against Senegal (they were 0-2 behind before ultimately winning 3-2 at the tail end of the extra time period), and they also struggled a bit in the group stage matches against Egypt and Iran (both matches tied). The only "easy" team they were up against was New Zealand, also in the group stages.
So, no, it certainly wasn't "easy" for Belgium. The US team just completely faltered, is all.

Then I guess it will be a closer match than I thought. And with the current matches going on, Egypt has been playing really good against Argentina. Although that doesn't mean that the other teams are good too. Besides, we've seen a lot of like surprise wins this year, like the good teams either unexpectedly lost or didn't even join the world cup, while other teams have suddenly been playing really well, like take a look at Norway's match against Brazil for instance.
But your point regarding Belgium's match against the US is mostly valid. The US specializes in rugby, and they're generally not good at regular, standard soccer. It's easy to win against a team that don't really even have much experience in soccer!

Welcome to the school of making things up as we go.
In this topic. America's lack of existence in playing football apparently.
America is very sport efficient in almost everything.
At this point the sports they wouldn't know how to play are the ones that are more foreign to them like Aussie Rules Football or Cricket (and yes, they have their own teams in those sports in their own leagues).
You can't state that America specializes in a single sport, aka Rugby, when they're proficient in a shit ton of sports, and soccer is one of them and that's in their Major League Soccer.
America showed up when the Confederations Cup were a thing and the CONCACAF / Gold Cup which is their lil league they play Mexico, Canada and some other countries for instance.
And America will continue to show up even in the Olympics like they always do, and their Women's team are no slouch either.
Like why are you downplaying America's existence in soccer?
Soccer isn't a nothing sport to your country as you believe in.

I'm not super experienced, and I will apologize for this mistake. But basically, what I was trying to say is that while the US is very good at some sports, in terms of soccer and rugby, well the US is simply you know, lesser in soccer than in Rugby.
And also, I wasn't born in the US. I probably need to set my location to "Unspecified" or something like that.

The United States doesn't have the same focus on Soccer as other sports, but that doesn't mean there isn't a Sports population that doesn't enjoy soccer alot.
It's simply down to cultural differences.

Exactly. Different countries have different focuses on different sports. This is mostly due to cultural differences as you have said.
France have an outstanding team and I bet they will go far.
I think there's a very good shot they'll win or at least be in the final. I'd be surprised if they didn't make the semis. Although of course, plenty of crazier things have happened.
Well, so far so good. It really looks like the French team can't be stopped, they're simply the most complete team out there. Maybe Spain can do it, or Argentina on a very good day, but it looks extremely difficult for anyone else.

We played so bad this match. I think we could've done better. On the other hand, I agree, France is a top tier team. Mbappé is just an elite. Well deserved to France ngl.

You actually played in the match? Wow, that's crazy, I didn't know that you were a soccer player!

McBobX should have practiced more with the team instead of submitting three runs over the last two weeks. (/s and all that)

Well, in 2022 Finals, that was one of those days for Argentina. I remember that penalty shootout even today, with the score of 3:3 in the main game. Argetina's goalkeeper was super-confident.
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the premier.

That was a great day for Argentina for sure, but I think that team was better than this year's team. This year, they've been struggling to get past Cape Verde and Egypt, which doesn't instill much confidence against the real top tier teams.

I haven't seen France play during this tournament, but I wasn't impressed by Argentina's performance against Switzerland. I missed the first quarter or so of the match. Maybe they did quite well up until that point. Switzerland seemed to be playing better than Argentina from when I started watching. I thought that they would end up winning after equalizing. Then their player got the second yellow card and had to leave the field, and the outcome seemed pretty clear once Argentina applied more pressure. Still, I wasn't sure if they were trying to win during extra time or if they were trying to drag it out until penalties. That doesn't give me confidence about their future performance.
Funny how the top 4 ranked countries actually made the top 4 of the World Cup, don't see that very often.
Was rooting for Norway, and while they put up a good fight against England and could well have won it, England did a good job shutting down their main strengths (i.e. Haaland). Besides that though, England really didn't look that convincing to me. Norway had a good run.
It really is starting to shape up like another France vs Argentina final.

And soon enough, it'll be time for France VS. Argentina predictions.
Poor showing from France in the semi. Their defense pretty much screwed themselves over by giving Spain an early penalty, handing a free 1-0 lead to the team that's really good at squeaking out 1-0 leads and holding them. Then that forced France to fight from behind, which they haven't had to do all tournament, and it didn't work out for them. Spain just generally looked like the better team though, their defense really just made all of France's top strikers look average at best. Practically impenetrable.

Which of them do you think will win the third-place match :P? Since France can't win the tournament, I'm honestly OK with any future outcomes at this point.
