That's because I wanted to do a TAS of the original Itadaki Street on the NES. However, since the game only came out in Japan, I wanted to use a fan translation to make it easier for overseas viewers to understand. My main worry is that my run won't get accepted if I use such a translation, so I want to ask it here first for safety.

From the Movie Rules. "Fan translations are generally not allowed, though exceptions may be made if asked about ahead of time." I mean personally just run it in the original available language as sometimes fan translations adjust other ways the game behaves, well, that's just my take anyways. ̄\_(ツ)_/ ̄ Also with how the text presents itself in the game, you might be able to get away with a fan translation syncing after the run is done on the original Japanese release.

they are generally not allowed, but they can be accepted (like what happenes here https://tasvideos.org/7153M ) tho you have to follow this from the movie rules: ”Fan translations are generally not allowed, though exceptions may be made if asked about ahead of time.” as you already made this post, i would reccomend talking a bit more about it and wait for a judge's approval

Thanks. I ask this because aside from the Wii game, Itadaki Street is Japan only, so I wanted to use a fan translation to make it easier to follow along. Any judges I can contact about it?
