This run "completes" Ice Climber for the NES while doing the minimum number of things.

Objectives

  • Emulator used: BizHawk 2.11.1 (NESHawk core)
  • 1 player
  • Completes last level only

Comments

I made this run to test the current rules on what runs can be published. This run uses 1 player to avoid using 2 controllers, meaning 1 less thing is done. I use the level select on the title screen to skip to mountain 32, the last level, minimizing the number of levels completed. Finally, input ends on the jump that starts the bonus stage, since failing to finish the bonus stage still ends the level.
I won't put a suggested screenshot because I doubt this will get published, but I hope you still enjoy the run!

Just so you know the rules do explicitly talk about level select codes.
When TASing...
  • Level selects are not allowed. The game must start from the beginning.
    • This does not apply to levels that can only be accessed by codes or menus.
    • This also does not apply in cases where the game doesn't start at all.
And well the full game run has already been published: [169] NES Ice Climber "1 player" by Walker_Boh in 21:51.500 --But also definitely-- desperately needs an obsolete as it's an old Famtasia TAS that raised from the grave after the 1/2 player splits on the missing TASes have been done.
