About the game

Cirno Bottle Launch is a fun game where the Touhou character Cirno launches herself into outer space by the blast emerging from a Ramune bottle over the course of three consecutive "shakes". The more visciously the bottle is shaken, the more vertical the bottle is tilted at an angle, and the faster the lid is forced into to the Ramune bottle, the further away Cirno launches herself.

Stage by stage commentary

1st shake

The bottle is shaken up to a carbonation activation level of 100% (the maximum for the first shake). After that the aiming-error is minimized at 0.0°. After that the lid is pressed into the bottle at maximum speed to reach a burst of 100%. By that time the activation level has gone down by 2%, which is inevitable, as the aiming and injecting of the lid takes non-zero time.
Cirno is then launched for the first time to a height of about 68,000m when the 2nd shake is initiated. (Instead of starting the 2nd shake as soon as possible we could have waited for about 15 seconds during which Cirno gains additional height until about 99,000, but after testing this, this had no effect on the overall high-score at the end after the last shake.)

2nd shake

The process is about the same. The carbonation activation level is maxed out at 150%, the angle is again optimized at 0.0°, and the lid is pressed as fast as possible for a burst of 100%. Cirno increases her height to about 219,000,000m (which is about 57% of the way from our earth to the moon)

Last shake

The last shake is initiated as soon after the second shake as possible to leave a maximum amount of time (of about 19.7 seconds) for the last shake. This is important, as the carbonation activation level for the last shake is uncapped. The bottle is then shaken at highspeed to an activation level of about 110000000%. The angle is again optimized to 0.0°, and the lid is pressed into the bottle for a burst of 100%.
This is where the movie has its last input. After that Cirno is launched to a distance of 2,657,605,381,536,392,700 meters (which is about 18 million times farther away than our sun, 66 times farther away than the nearest other star Proxima Centauri, and so far away that light would need about 281 years to travel this distance).

Possible improvements

I haven't tested whether going with a suboptimal tilt, in order to retain more activation level percentage points, would benefit the score. I just assumed it wouldn't, so if I am wrong about that, this could be a possible improvement.

Additional comments

I tried, but unfortunately I couldn't get my libTAS to make an encode :(
On another note, i didn't have any sound in libTAS, so i hope there is sound in the encode (assuming this submission gets accepted)
since screenshots didn't work in libTAS for me either, i made some window screenshots to accompany this submission

Temp encode (volume warning and sound effect spam): Link to video Fun idea for a game, and ramune is a really tasty drink. That's some high score! Actually you seem to have hit a character limit (24?) for the submission's max score field, which is why it starts with 2657 instead of 2,657. My libTAS is muted by default: Settings>Audio>Mute, so maybe yours is too? Encoding always dumps the audio correctly for me though.

Yes 2,657 wasn't possible due to a character limit. It's kinda funny :)

Oh thanks, I'll try it out! Unfortunately, trying to encode it threw an error for me. Maybe i need to do some investigation into this.

sad that the score isn't all ⑨s XD on a more serious note: ”On another note, i didn't have any sound in libTAS, so i hope there is sound in the encode” that is regular behaviour, audio is muted because it can mess up savestates but once encoded there will be audio like normal :) well, good run overrall, yes vote!
i like lion king.. and kirby 👍

Honestly it'd be easier just to branch it as max score, lol.
