Nice, you found two new tricks, faster diddy roll in JH and bigger barrel-carry-jump in BCC. They look like they save a few seconds =/ >saved X frames on Y Keep in mind that many of those frame don't count towards the in-game timer, so to reach 38 you'll have to find new tricks in the levels themselves. And are you aiming for in-game timer or overall frame count? Well, anyway, I hope you have a hard time with some of the tricks in the latter levels.. they can take a while to do, even in bullet time >=D

Haha. But even if there's no minute improvement, it'll still be faster if he keeps doing this great, and I think that's enough reason for it to be published.

It was mentioned somewhere that you don't need to enter the room with Winky in Bouncy Bonanza to get 101%, so in case you weren't aware, that can save you some time. The run looks good so far, by the way.

Alex: I just trying to be as fast as possible at everything and I just list up all things by frames, I don't really know how the game counts the in-game. And I am having a hard time with the tricks already now :P Graveworm: of course I'll keep doing this great! I'm Arne the great? JXQ: It's things like that I want to know, even I already read that earlier but I'm not going to be happy if I miss things like that. But thanks anyway I just done Very gnawty's lair so I just finished the first world =) now up to some harder work. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/560/DK-TAS.smv

Yeah, how could he miss that :-) Keep up the good work and don't forget to inform yourself about everything before recording the final run to not make a mistake somewhere.

Neato! Run is looking fast (duh) and good so far. I'm still impressed by the graphics on this game. Even today very few games surpass it on graphics and even fewer surpass it on gameplay.

Hello everybody and thanks for 'all' the comments, sorry to disappoint you but I don't have much acne. :/ My cpu died a little and virus and all that shit has been slowing me down but now I'm back in business and will update soon. added 1 stage more =/ Couldn't find anything that can be improved

> Couldn't find anything that can be improved You mean Gnawty? Hmm... maybe you're not looking hard enough, 'cos I didn't do frame-by-frame carefulness (if you couldn't tell with all the other little frames you managed to shave off so far.) See how you go with world 2.

Alex: I meant winky's walkway but however gnawty didn't seem to could be improved =/ you played very precisly The shortcuts you take is faster right? Cause you don't need to take them but i don't know if you knew that but it looks faster anyway :). http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/582/BONUS_TRICK_DKC.smv Discovered a trick you can do as you fail on bonus's with diddy. The jump trick can be done on all, but the slide trick is only working on bonus like that. Wish I discovered that earlier :) Did some frame testing and it's slow you down about 30 frames to do the jump trick :( It's not worth it http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/597/DK-TAS.smv New update! I hope that you don't need to take the wendy room :) Gonna test just to be sure.

You know those levels, where when you get 3 gold tokens of the same type, you get to play them? Well it may be a fun competion to see how many "coins" you can get in each. There is a code that you can enter to help get to them fast
While the intro is playing, press Down, Y, Down, Down, Y
I will post my high score non tool assisted for some once I get something decent It may be interesting to make a time attack out of this I don't know. Or it might just be fun to do it without tools, if so this topic should move to speed run competions or something.
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

I have 916 (non-TAS) with rambi and 999 for the others. I tried making a rambi TAS awhile ago, but I got bored fairly quickly so I didn't get too far. Edit: Btw Deviance, weren't you supposed to have submitted a DKC speedrun to SDA and TG by now? Did you ever manage to get 43?

Ah nice, my scores suck: rhino 812 fish 794 bird 812 frog 922 I knew they sucked, but 999s damn...
g,o,p,i=1e4,a[10001];main(x){for(;p?g=g/x*p+a[p]*i+2*!o: 53^(printf("%.4d",o+g/i),p=i,o=g%i);a[p--]=g%x)x=p*2-1;}

Here is Rambi with 820: donkey kong country (v1.0) (u).smv Michael, do you happen to have the .zmv where you got 916 on Rambi? Even with save-states, I've tried a few banana-rich routes and still don't see how it's possible to get even close to your score.

The 916 was done on Zsnes, and I recorded the zmv but it desynced, so that was the last time I ever used Zsnes to record runs. I wasn't able to beat my time in Snes9x, but I managed to get close with a 913 so here's an smv of that: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/692/dkcr913-Michael%20Fried.smv

flagitious, Engarde is easy to max 999. I have a vid to give you an idea. http://paultanney.free.fr/alexpenev/full/dkc_enguarde_999(played_on_SNES9x).avi Expresso should be next easiest. Just swoop from high and zigzag down. Winky is tricky. You basically need to climb high and drop downwards while grabbing 2 columns at once (on the descent). This is pretty random non-TAS since Winky is constantly wobbling and hit detection with tokens is frustrating. But if you pull it off (i.e. grabbing the majority of tokens in a double-column drop) about 3 times in the same run, you have a good chance at 999.

I got 999 on Winky, I probably didn't use the best method as it was really difficult and took me many many tries. I will try to get 999 on Expresso and Enguado next, but for me this will probably be even harder than Winky. Oh btw I just discovered that area to the left on the Expresso level, you probably already knew about it though.

Hey I saw this buried with a lot of progress done. Sounds like you have a chance at getting 0:38 for the game timer if this improvement keeps up! *Encouragement*
