I believe this is meant to be a sequel to Solomon's Key - the style of puzzling is similar. I'm looking for a game to timeattack - it will be my first - and this game is challenging enough for me to want to try. Would there be any interest?

I'd watch it.

It's the sequel to Solomon's Key, but it happens before. I'd love to see it! Especially unconventional methods of solving some of the puzzles.

We call that a "prequel".

I think a Fire n' Ice timeattack would be a bad idea. This game is pretty much a straightforward puzzler, and the final movie would be not much more than an animated "how-to" guide for beating all the levels. I don't see the fun in that. Also, you might have trouble recording this in Famtasia. In level 1-9, the background blacks-out and you can't see what you're doing.

I'm not using Famtasia - I'm using VirtuaNES.

Does a prequel usually have a higher number, though? The Japanese game is called "Solomon's Key 2: Coolmint Island Rescue Operation".

Depends on who's talking. :-P I've heard Lufia2 be called a prequal often enough... I think most people use it this way since the number shouldn't matter all that much story-wise.

Devil May Cry 3 is a prequel. As was Yoshi's Island, "Super Mario World 2."

And Castlevania 3. And Zelda 3. Heck, those two whole series seem to jump all over their respective timelines as new episodes are released. =P

Yeah, but "CastleVania 3" wasn't numbered in Japan, it was titled differently ("Legend of Demon Castle" rather than "Demon Castle Dracula"). And it's arguable when Zelda 3 happens. Dan Owsen, who translated it, though it happened before, so that's why it's called "A Link to the Past" in the US, but Morimoto said in an interview that it happens after. The timeline is so mesed up taht it's better to just enjoy the games rather than try to work out how - or even if - they are related.

Yeah, i've seen many an arguement about the order of the Zelda games. And i've also found that i'm the only person who thinks that Link's Awakining takes place during the 7 (I believe) year sleep in OoT.

Yeah, whatever happened to good gameplay instead of story continuity? I tell ya, it's true that gamers are a minority these days.

the real question is, are the megaman games in chronological order?! I heard quick man had a baby with storm eagle that could stop time AND fly, but that can't be true if X is megaman's father!

ソロモンの鍵2 − クールミン島 救出作戦 (Solomon's Key 2 - Coolmin tou kyuushutsu sakusen) I think this game has similar potential as Lolo. Edit: Moved into a separate topic.

I'm working on a superplay for Fire 'n Ice. I'd have started it way earlier, but at that time I thought it would be too boring for a movie. I still think it would be one of the less impressive vids to watch, but I've decided to make one anyway, since the game is really cool (and underrated) and has a very distinctive art style which I like a lot. I use a password to get to the final world directly, otherwise this movie would have been too boring, especially for the first levels. World 10 Level 01 (Works with Famtasia and Fire 'n Ice (U).nes). The first level so far. I've spotted two mistakes already (I move one tile further than necessary at two spots) and I'll take them out soon. I'll update this topic whenever I finish a new level. Hope you all enjoy! PS: I'm not too sure about this, but I'm thinking that maybe I should continue in FCE Ultra instead of Famtasia, since you can't see the clock at the bottom of the screen unless you use the scanlines hack, which is really too bad.

I'm just here to say I'd watch the Time Attack. I never heard of the game, but I am a fan of Solomon's Key.
