King's Bounty is a turn-based strategy game. The objective is to recover the Sceptre of Order. Map pieces that reveal the location of the sceptre are gained by defeating villains and finding special artifacts. A normal play session would involve exploring four large continents and battling hundreds of creatures, but in this movie nobody gets killed and everyone is happy. After the game begins (at frame 585) it takes 25 frames to complete it.
Plays at hardest level
Aims for fastest time
Manipulates luck
Ignores semi-important goals in the game
If someone wants to improve it, watch these RAM addresses:
00FFE8A8 (sceptre x-coordinate)
00FFE8AA (sceptre y-coordinate)
{11,5} would be the perfect coordinates, but a) I'm not sure if the sceptre can be under the starting location and b) it may take more time to manipulate that than it takes to walk to the location I got, {11,4}.
adelikat: Accepting this run. The response is good and the run shows amazing luck manipulation. This should be the easiest job an encoder will ever get :p Hell, compressing the .png screenshot will probably take longer than the .avi. Come to think of it, there isn't much to choose from in the screen shot considering only 25 frames of gameplay :p
Bisqwit: Submission file replaced. According to the author, it is now 5 frames faster. It is indeed now only 610 frames long.

hahaha, amusing. What a good find, a ten second TAS. I've never played it before but with a test and the submission text I was able to understand what your movie does, so I'd say this could get a yes from me. I'm sure that anyone whose spent the hours and hours trying to beat this would appreciate this movie, hehe.
Darn these TAS' that take more time to obtain the rom and such than it does to watch them.
yes vote from me, this was surprisingly entertaining for such a short movie, you walk what looks like half a tile, and beat the game.

I voted yes. I am stunned more than anything. I considered doing a TAS of this game except that I couldn't remember the name of it (used to play it a lot back in the day). Had no idea that it could be done THAT fast O_o.
For anyone not familiar with the game, what happened in that TAS is astronimical. This is more a rpg style game that should take many many hours to complete. And it was done in 25 frames of game play.

That's true, although those goals were met without any effort.
I thought about that too. If there are more games that can be completed in ~10 seconds, there's probably no reason to publish all of them. If this movie would aim for being the "shortest TAS ever", then any movie that's faster could obsolete it.
TAStronimical! :)
This is getting more positive votes than I thought. If it gets accepted, give it a month before publishing it. It's always possible that someone (including me) can improve it in the near future.
Thanks for the comments everyone.
Edit: Oh, if you'd like to see what "normal" playing looks like, Ouzo's movie that aims for defeating all the villains can be found here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4317
The description of the movie reminds me of the Wheel of Fortune submission we had two years back.
I don't think we should pollute the movie listings with this movie.
I would like to add that, but then I would need to revise the confidence formula (visible in the submission listing). And the yes/no rating percentage formula.

As far as entertainment goes i couldn't make much of it. I have never played this game before and so whatever happened went straight over my head.
However, i think that this movie has enough right to be on the site. Effectively what he does is just a much faster version of the short LoZ 3 run and the short LoZ 2 run.
That seems like the answer to me. Instead of putting it in with the normal movies, we put this on the concept demos page with the title: 'Shortest TAS'. The description should list the current game that holds the record and all games can compete for this. I don't see any reason not to put this on the site - sure it isn't entertaining of it's own merit, but the fact that an actual video game has been defeated in 10s is jawdropping.
Just my 2 cents.

I think this movie is interesting mostly (or only) because it's exceptionally short. That's why I submitted it.
Here's an "argument for expectation" (or something like that):
Imagine a first-time user that watches some of the starred movies. After seeing SUPER NINJA ENTERTAINMENT, he/she probably wants to see MORE and "King's Bounty in 10 seconds" movie certainly isn't what he/she expects to see. An average movie-viewer would probably think: "WTF, this is not what I wanted to see!"
However, this might be an interesting addition to the CCCFFFoncept demos section. After all, who would have thought that ANY video game could be finished in 10 seconds?
I'm not going to judge whether this movie should be published or not, although I enjoy bizarre movies.
I'm not upset if it gets rejected. It was good education for memory reading.
Besides, I'm quite confident that it can be improved. ;)
