Hey guys, there's a compilation of useful tricks of the game here. Noobies can't miss it! And Pros can help by telling us if there's anything wrong there!

Well, I just discovered a trick and named it the Super Backflip which allows Link to backflip at the same height but at a great distance. Kind of like the Superslide but there is no motion after Link lands the backflip.

I think Tub explained that it's technically not something new, just doing a backflip at the end and you look like you jump longer but it's just because you start a higher height. Keep looking to see if it relle is something new however.

These tricks are merely an updated list of the tricks contents of Guanobowl's submission for the 2:30:00 OoT. The most notable additions being the superslide and the Bottle adventure.

Amazingly enough, no one claimed that it was some brand new list of magical tricks. Saying that it is 'merely an updated list' is like saying that the dictionary is 'merely a list of all the words/definitions in a certain language.'

you sure it's still considered daylight, maybe it changed for the guards trigger a little sooner. I wouldn't be supprised if you just need to get there a few seconds earilier.

hmm.. that's weird. in indoor locations, it's always either day or night (of you enter them at 17:59, it's day; if it's 18:00, it's night). Maybe there is another trigger? And, Guanobowl, about the desyncs in your run... in the latest one(I think it's the latest) it desynched after Link talks to Kaepora Gaebora. I watched the input display, and noticed the DIGITAL PAD was pressed (?!)... Your file might have gotten corrupt... and, it couldn't be the zip, because I can extract it fine without any warning...

Thats the desync I mentioned earlier but that didn't happen in the previous movies. Guano, do you know how much time you need to shave off to get in before the guards appear and did the wolf howl before you got in. I think under the circumstances if this doesn't work then I think you should get the egg; wake up Talon so he appears at the Ranch and then boost across the moat with a bomb. Is it possible to bribe the guard 10 ruppee's to open the gate because time doesn't pass during speeches and you can avoid the owl with a ground jump. Try that, and when can the guard be bribed because sometimes he doesn't let you.

I did a superslide everywhere I could. I did 1 in DMT, 1 at the Town, 2 in the Field (1 for skipping owl) and 3 in the Caslte area. This run is getting hopeless again.

What about the desync? Did you actually try to replay your .m64 from the beginning, Guanobowl? And.. hey! You're famous, now:

Why not make it, umm, URL? http://www.zeldablog.com/2006/08/31/ocarina-of-time-quick-and-dirty/ Instead of "code". That's a pretty nice review btw.

I figured out the trigger for bribing the guard at Hyrule. You need to get the egg from Malon and re-enter the area once its obtained.

Oh yeah, would bribing the guard be considered part of a 100% run? Because I might consider it part of a 100% run.

Yes, because you need that to start the Young Link trading sequence, which eventually leads to the Mask of Truth.

Never could figure out what the Mask of Truth...or any mask for that matter (other than for certain quests) did. What does it do?

Those masks have no other use but trading. The Mask of Truth is useful (not in the same way as in Majora's Mask, but it is), but I won't tell you what it does...heh I don't believe you didn't find the obvious connection...

Actually, I believe Bag of Magic Food is talking about bribing the guard in front of Hyrule Castle. I'm assuming that you are thinking of the guard blocking the gate near DM, which does start the child link trade sequence. Anyway, I don't think that bribing the guard should be considered part of the 100% goals, but it might come up in the 100% thread.

You need the Skull Mask and Mask of Truth to get the Deku Nut/Deku Stick upgrades from the Deku Theater.

This discussion really doesn't belong here. * Hopes Bisqwit will make another appearance and warn BoMF again * So, where does the run actually desynch when played from the very beginning? I can't test it because I don't have that plugin on my computer -- I've said this many times.
ok. you can have the Bisqwit again And it desyncs when he reaches the Hyrule Fields, right after meeting Kaepora Gaebora for the first time.

Mask of Truth is required to get the second Deku nut upgrade, and perhaps a deku stick upgrade, iirc. It also allows you to talk to the obelisks that tell you the time. That's it, I think.

....that's it? Sad, I was hoping for something else that I had missed. Oh well, any luck with the guard problem?
