Hi, I'm asking this because there is no entry in the FAQ to make an AVI movie from a VBM file. My question goes because the LAME settings for making AVI files from FCM and SMV differ, otherwise the guide is identical. So I want to know if they also differ for VBM files or there are other things to consider. Thanx.

I found that if I disable XVid Codec from the FFDShow configuration screen, the movies plays smoothly. I don't know if there is something else installed in my machine which causes the behaviour. Because as far as I know I have installed right now only XVid, FFDShow and Indeco, how can I check if I have another codec installed which I'm not aware of? Thanx

Hi, I reported a few posts ago a problem trying to see some movies downloaded from this site using Media Player Classic (version 6.4.8.4). By uninstalling and installing codecs I found that whenever I install ffdshow-20050406, the MPC software plays wrong the movies, basically it stops every five or six seconds the video, but the audio play is continuous. However if I uninstall ffdshow, MPC plays fine the AVI files. It happened with Castlevania and Contra for NES. Could it be some issue with the options I enable/disable in the installation of ffdshow? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanx in advance.

Thanks but the page didn't help in either situation. :( Definitely there is something wrong with the codecs in my PC because I tried to encode FCE movies using Huffyuv codec and the only thing that appears is a window "Error trying to write AVI file" Since I'll be getting a new PC soon, I'll try to start from scratch there. Thanx anyway.

Hi, wonderful site, I always wanted to watch AVI files of runs on NES and SNES games. I have experienced a funny situation in my XP PC. Some of the videos I download play fine in Winamp 5.05, and on my Zodiac using TCPMP, however, using Media Player Classic 6.4.8.4 the audio plays a bit ahead of the video, this only happens with the AVI downloaded from "Download AVI from archive.org". This does not happen with other videos I have. Also, I tried to experiment encoding movies, and used the Double Dragon for Famtasia one. I followed the guide and when I finish the second pass for encoding, the video file results in a very, very glitched version, however if I check the "Preview Output Video" of VirtualDub while encoding it looks fine. I'm using Virtual Dub 1.5.10 and XVid 1.0.3 since that is the one which has all the configuring options described in the guide. I assume the problem is in versions of the codecs installed in my machine, but how can I check that? I don't have the latest Windows Media Player and use Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative. FFDShow and AVI Splitter are already installed also. Has anyone experienced these situations? Thanks in advance.
