https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCnD0nRbmcI A possible (yet unlikely) alternative in ttc. If there was a way to actually get on the ledge to the treasure chest, I think it might be useful, but at the same time the requirement for jiggy dance also wastes time. I usually flap right when banjo starts to say jumbo (or whatever says). Hold r once you clip so camera doesn't get stuck. If anyone wants to test, feel free.

the "jiggy angle" resets when you enter/leave a loading zone thing, so it has to be a termite outside. Don't know how to solve it to bring the termite closer, unfortunately. although it will waste time, maybe try to do the bounce thing on the termite (push the termite with the "wee" animation that happens when you don't press anything but a when jumping towards and enemy).

Finding a BGS early entrance would save a lot of time. I'm just throwing out some ideas, but nothing has worked so far -can the ice cube in fp puzzle (I think you have to enter fp for them to appear) clip you out? I find it interesting that with some rng, you can get one of the ice cubes onto the puzzle ledge. No luck on that ledge either. -the cheato entrance area? The sides look funny with talon trot, but not getting any clips yet. EDIT: Another possible area: Talon trot clip here (outside fp puzzle area)? https://imgur.com/Hd6Yzoh No luck, but I feel like it is harder because of the swamp water. Also, new idea for spiral mountain. After boulders, roll onto 1st level of mountain and go to stumps (skip underwater honeycomb). do same stuff until after waterfall honeycomb. Use this glitch (it is possible to get ground after 1st diving animation + 1/2 swimming animation) https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=KhBl53_b-DQ#t=16. normal jump to resurface and then follow same route. I think it saves like 0.5-1 second, but anyone else can check if it does. EDIT 2: No luck with bgs still, but are these crevices graphical bugs, or actual openings? https://imgur.com/a/XEA7S

I wonder if the egg glitch that jumpman found extends to being able to hit more than one hitbox. If 2 eggs could kill all 4 snippets in one shot, that would be cool (but I'm not having too much luck with it) you can "whoo" bounce (like with sm enemies) off the snippets to get on the pipe. maybe that can be worked into it as well. Haven't been able to reproduce it, I got it when I was in the water part. Side note: Anyone try clipping near the first cheato entrance?

Hm, maybe using the mad monster mansion bk window room for eggs and feathers? I don't know if you can traverse the room in less than 10 seconds though to make up for the egg door. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bc5nhFLC9zU Example of conga hitting third pad while being pretty stationary on the tree (sorry about the mouse in the video). I don't think the camera matters, though I adjusted it in this example. This is obviously too slow. I'm curious, what were the inputs tried?

Can monsters push you out of bounds if you're against a corner or a wall? I'm wondering if for TTC lair, if it's possible to try to talon trot "clip" one the edge/corner of the ship and then wait for the gremlin dude to hit you so you get pushed out of bounds (though I think that is a very difficult setup to test).

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xppbYurYDys I apologize for the double/triple post. I think I understand how the third ledge conga egg hit works. A hit is triggered when it hits anywhere below his head. This includes the arms/hands. Hyper was on the right track when mentioning that it works while conga's beating his chest. I'm still not sure if it's possible to get it while on the switch ledge (probably a lot of precision). I tried to attempt the interrupt the cutscene, but I can't reliably hit conga on the third ledge in real time. I used the stairs on the right side to "calibrate" the aim, but it doesn't need to be too precise since his arm movements affect it too. (Thanks to cloakedyoshi's highlight video for helping me figure this out). Nevermind about this. Kirkq and Cronikeys tried to do this 2 years ago. -Idea for ttc early. There are a few bricks that are in the ground. The smaller ones that look like triangular prisms are solid rectangular prisms that jut into the ground. I'm thinking it might be possible to do the talon trot clip on these small pieces, but would require tas inputs to test. My idea is that because there is water that also exists slightly under, clipping will switch to swimming mode, and then you can swim to the loading zone for ttc. Though some water is not directly under the loading zone, so may need some special jumps to get to it. -I tried non-tas talon trot slide jumps in CC from bolt pipe walkway and I think it might be possible to get to the mumbo token grating when tas'ed. If it's possible, then it'll be faster to collect notes on the pipe falling down (but might mess up the cycle). Though I don't have a video, the jumping from the original part near the bolt gets slightly closer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhmru0AZVeI (12/12): Small finding: I tested in CCW winter the last mumbo token in winter and compared it with beak buster vs. talon trot "exiting" as you drop (like when getting the autumn flower jiggy when dropping from the beehive), then flap or rat a tap to not take damage. A conservative estimate is that it's 5 frames faster to do the talon trot thing (flap and rat-a-tap are close) as opposed to beak buster. I think this can apply to other high altitude drops. (fp hat is too high. However, it is possible to just take one damage jumping directly off the top of the hat with the notes if you touch the water right. Although this isn't in the 100% tas route, I think it might work for the any% route). (12/17): I figured out how to do the wireframe thing in pj64. Small optimization in FP: If you slide off of a box when going to bottles, you can stay in talon trot when learning beak bomb. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzFD07RykHs BGS lair jiggy neck clip. I couldn't find a video of this, but I've seen it in streams, so I uploaded one. Still no consistent setup. I saw a few previous posts where a wire frame was used. Anyone want to try using that for this? With regards to getting the third conga orange pad, I believe that it happens due to rotations within the 90 degree range of the orange when you are on the tree (but shifted more towards chimpy...not sure if this sounds clear...but sometimes, I think conga throws behind him 180 degrees). I have been able to get him to throw it to the 3rd pad while staying on the tree (after some moving up and down and rotation), but only once (it's very hard to get him to throw the proper distance; I've had several oranges get close very close to the pad but not close enough to trigger it). I think it works well in the route since you just have to rotate a bit around the point of the orange. I think this can be manipulated in tas to get it immediately. http://www.twitch.tv/stivitybobo/c/1855581 When stiv does it, notice he stays on the tree slightly longer and moves slightly downward compared to his runs now.

cool, liking the optimizations, hyper. I recall sixfifteen doing an alternate method for mm lair jiggy where you roll, flutter off, feathery flap, roll, then rat-a tap rap and you can get the jiggy (but it's harder to do rta at least for me). This skips the beak buster. I don't know if it's still slower than talon trot, but something to test. (Update: Nevermind, it's similar to the waiting and sliding down the slope, which is slower). I played through ttc and after the lighthouse, I was able to maintain talon trot and fell/slid to the bottom without damage. I'm not sure how I did this (I somehow kept walking on the cliff side longer than usual I think), but something to consider if it is faster or may be possible for saving health.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1IOuBuymK2w "Beak Buster" climbing. RBB ladder just for demonstration (since it won't need to be used in TAS). There seems to be a sweet spot (timing and maybe placement on the ladder) if you time a beak buster properly. (If you time it improperly, it is slower than normal climbing). The only time it is successful in the video is at 0:07. The only places I can think that this will be useful is the vine in the lair near TTC and CCW puzzle and some poles in BGS.

https://youtu.be/Qd5fesxRNs0 (First few seconds are relevant part). Might be possible to stay in talon trot use talon trot and rat a tap instead of backflip to get onto sheet music in mmm church. My range of directions using the keyboard is limited, so it might be easier on console. If necessary, I think making use of the camera change before going on the stand might help. update: video of BGS tiptup jiggy. move down slightly while backflipping to honeycomb (maybe for a few frames). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHwIKAXezQY

I was doing a run and for the BGS tiptup turtles, I backflipped the honeycomb and beak bustered near the edge of the stand and was able to get the jiggy without landing on the ground (probably some strange hit detection). I don't have time to test it out more, but it seems like it would be a few frames faster.

I watched the tas and the discrepancy with the RBB time is that in furnace fun, it does boss boom box for a mini game tile. I used the levitating cheat to get inside tumblar from below, and you can get stuck inside, but unfortunately the jiggy is not activated (just a texture), so no point in trying to find a clip with that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Myn0sblfMLA Almost getting to the top of MM lair jiggy with talon trot. I'm thinking with TAS, either getting the right joystick direction or being able to ground pound immediately after the rat a tat rap would get to the top. I am tapping B in the second half of the second jump.

yeah, it's a pretty difficult jump, I probably get it about 1 every 50 jumps. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRUpmdDojDg CCW winter: Beak bombing the 4 notes on the house. I think you're bound to hit the tree (but you'll lose a health either method). My guess is that this might be a little faster to get only the witch switch on the first fly, and then get the notes and the jiggy at the top the second fly. This might require a few more red feathers though. Maybe to preserve feathers, doing it in the current 100% order. I think the best way is, since after you beak bomb, you land near the branches next to the house, beak bomb crash land into it so you land onto the witch switch, then cancel the damage animation by feathery flap as you are falling off the witch switch. (so we lose an additional health in this sequence.) Video demonstration of route (general idea): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqQfq54KMB8 MMM: If needed, health refill by beak buster-ing the witch switch at high enough height in flight with one health. (or use zombie flutter that cronikeys found)

It was done on PJ64 1.6, NTSC-U. Are there emulation issues with it? I couldn't make this tree jump in spiral mountain, but I feel like it might be frame perfect. What do you guys think? Also a route if it's possible, though I'm not sure how much faster it is (yeah, my movements are not so good lol). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLe_gn3Z0r0 That's a really cool route for Gobi's, Hyper. Gobi's looks like it'll be pretty exciting.

Nice find with the cycle. A small optimization in CC: I found that you can collect the grate honeycomb without dropping down (it only took me a few tries). Do a roll and backflip and you can get back onto the top of the grate area. So then in the 100% route, you can jump back onto that pipe area in the back and talon trot dive directly above the snippets area as opposed to the near that grate area. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa0KY5rznAU (the video does it towards the wall, but it's even easier doing it left to right (or right to left), so it can be seamlessly included in the route). It would be interesting to see if the talon trot slide can jump back high enough to not even waste time with switching out of talon trot. Anyone know if it's possible to clip the final CC jiggy? Also, for any% (with the current RTA route), small optimization for Leaky and bottles in TTC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ejt3VYJ7i_o If possible, would it be faster to get the MM grunty switch jiggy with talon trot? EDIT: In MMM, in front of the tumblar house, I believe it is possible to backflip onto the corner of the house that is connected to the wall, but it seems like a precise jump. you would use a feathery flap to get on (similar to the leaf jump in CCW lair when you barely make the jump). It is easier to get it with a roll jump similar to the spiral mountain jump: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7grjQKqv5s

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQkVxGePy5w Depending on the cycle in CC, this might be better (for 12a-18a in any% route) if it is possible to skip the climbing animation and get on top of the pipe directly (With the climbing animation, it seems to be about the same speed as using the shock jump). I found it's possible to poop eggs on conga if you are on the leaf, but you have to go back to the stump to trigger him to throw the next set of oranges, so it's probably not worth it. Would taking damage with bigbutt (to "boost you towards bridge") be a possible 4th damage in MM?

oh yeah, I remember stiv was able to jump in the middle of a FF question in an any% run a few days ago. Did he look further into that?

ah cool, I guess I didn't look closely enough at the route lol. just throwing ideas out. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=328035#328035

I think I confused that post with this one http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=327937#327937, which mentions talon trot slide probably works in the edit...it's been awhile since I looked at what that actually said.

Good to see this thread alive again. Nice job with routing FP and GV. wow, didn't know about CC tail thing. That must be very precise. Ugh, I had this idea, but I remembered you don't have beak bomb entering gobi's lol. (My idea was to break the gobi jiggy during the pyramid timer using beak bomb, to skip the dance sequence.) GV: -If it saves time, maybe before doing rubee clip, collect a note or two on the pyramid so when turbo trainer-ing up the pyramid you can make "shortcuts". FP: - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVV19F60yAA Is it possible to retain flight and still clip through the snowman? -Depending on the feather count, maybe get the boggy jiggy in flight while on the way to the igloo? (I'm thinking of a perfect beak bomb downward then retain flight and fly to igloo.) -So it's not possible to get the 4 notes in front of Wozza's during the boggy race in one go? -I wonder if the fly under freezeezy clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a294jUuStB4) to maybe deathwarp at a location where the jiggy dance can be skipped...though it's unlikely since there's not enough health to get back out if you collect the honeycomb. Is there any update on the "pause buffering" thing with talon trot that KirkQ used to try to get CC puzzle early and exiting CCW puzzle room more quickly? Does this trick only work with talon trot? I was wondering if in spiral mountain for any%, this thing can be used to get on the tree and pause buffer with rat-a-tat rap and get onto the mountain early. (If this works, then for 100% route, after the water honeycomb: tree, waterfall, stumps, go to tree that's closest to banjo's house, do trick)

I believe this has been taken into consideration for the route by using the reverse bee glitch to get into gobi's valley this way.

Nice routing. Spiral Mountain: -Is it possible to jump onto bottles molehill so that banjo will bounce back away from the house? Would it be faster? -Is it possible to jump from the tree nearest to the house to the mountain? I only can get it with talon trot, beak attack, but obviously you don't learn talon trot at that time. TTC: -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NM_8ZydiZBI This works for bottles near cliffs. (so both moves in TTC). Seems to be a small time frame to do this cliff drop and leaky to save a little bit of time to be closer to sandcastle notes. (Successfully doing this would also result in a lost mumbo token). Hard to real time, so if someone wants to test TAS, that would be good. May be possible to simultaneously learn move and give treasure to blubber (Doesn't seem to work)? Or just getting to second treasure faster? Would have to skip mumbo token however. CC: -haven't found a way to jump to the grating without beak attack thing. -http://imgur.com/a/dyGIW I found the "sideways" camera angle easier to do it, but it also works with camera from behind. (Sorry, I had issues with making a video of it). -I wonder if the whipslash things under water can be manipulated so that you hit all 4 of them for damage in one "continuous" path. MMM: -Is it possible to backflip onto the vine hedge right next to tumblar house? Maybe use the skeleton as damage boost? -Would talon trot dive to mumbo token from blue jinjo be feasible? -Nevermind, exiting you become a pumpkin and have to walk the path anyway. Maybe attempt when going to MMM? In the lava part of the lair, would talon trot slide jump be worth it to save a little bit of time? (If not planning on resetting after water raising, I was thinking if it is possible to do the jump from the pumpkin path to the lava entrance thing) -(Nevermind, skipping loggo jiggy)https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=aZBiZfm_USo#t=229s I think getting to third floor pipe thing by Ringrush's trick would be faster than shock jump.

Wow, nice work guys. Wish I could help, but all I can do is show my support. (Not helpful, but yeah, I was able to get the x marks the spot jiggy in the water only once.)
