Yes, about 98% of the rerecords were luck manipulation.

Oops... Edit: Well, I'm improving the list a bit more now. --- Edit-2: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/genlistv4.txt [obsoleted] Removed a few more untasable ones and created categories for auto-scrollers, racing and sports games. There are still many titles that I'm not familiar with, mostly Japanese ones. I'm going to leave it be for a moment so that others have a chance to give their input.

I think it's a great waste of resources to let good tasers argue badly. The pareto optimal solution would be to publish both movies.

I removed some more redundant titles and separated games that have a published TAS. Please check it for mistakes. http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/genlistv3.txt [obsoleted]

Yeah, it's still a quite a long list, so I have made mistakes. Thanks, I'll fix those you mentioned. --- Edit: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/genlistv2.txt [obsoleted] --- Edit-2:

Well, that's a good and useful list. It shows game genres too. Now we just need to develop our own list that helps tasers specifically. Should our list stay here on the forum, or should we create a new wiki page for it for easier editing?

Here is cleanup version 1 for mmbossman's list: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/genlistv1.txt [obsoleted] 1073 titles left. I removed all multi-game cartridges, hacks, prototypes, beta versions, etc. I tried to leave only one version for each game to make it simple, but I did not touch titles that I was unsure of. Feel free to clean the list some more (or add something that is missing), but inform about your intentions to avoid double work. After it's cleaned a bit more, we'll put them into a few categories: 1) games that already have a published movie 2) games that have an unpublished movie 3) auto-scrolling 4) racing 5) sports 6) board games 7) others Right?

Great that you are interested, mmbossman. I can make the first cleanup all by myself, since it's not a big task. We'll see what to do with the list then. All ideas are welcome.

Thanks. I'll make a cleaned up version of the list by removing all duplicate titles, ok?

The Genesis wishlist could suggest different platforms for games that have bad Genesis ports or fail to work with Gens.

Hey, let's make a complete list of Genesis games, similar to the N64 wishlist. It would be useful information source, because there are many games that can't be tased with Gens currently. For example: Dune II desynchs. Chiki Chiki Boys desynchs. The Chaos Engine has a graphical failure. I once had a list with almost every Genesis game ever published, but I lost it and can't seem to find it again. It's not an impractically long list, so maintaining it should be feasible. I'm willing to contribute to that kind of a page, if the idea is acceptable.

Added one Y-vote to the pile. I would let the two different versions coexist as an educational example of censorship in video games.

Seriously, could you pick some GOOD genesis games for once?
No, I like bad games. Show me a bad (short) game and I'll do it immediately. I'm afraid there's not many good games left. Any ideas?

Here are four segments that I recorded some time ago with 5% speed and 0 rerecords. The run ends at the clock room, total lenght being about 2,7 mins. http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/aitd1.zip (1,5 MB) (Apparently, this file is missing.) http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/aitd2.zip (9 MB) (This file is missing too.) http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/aitd3.zip (4,3 MB) http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/aitd4.zip (1,4 MB) The movie format is ZMBV that comes with Dosbox.

Yes, the later games in the series have more fighting and shooting, so tasing them is a good idea.

With a bit of help from me, a friend of mine has almost finished a TAS of King Colossus, but he says he needs to redo the last half of it, because he found a severe bug that can be used to skip a few levels completely. (As far as I understand, the trick involves interfering some forced owerworld traveling to mess the game so that you arrive in a wrong location. This saves about 10 minutes.) Unfortunately, he can't continue doing it for a while and he also lost a lot of motivation due to some 20 000 useless rerecords. So, here's King Colossus played to the beginning of the last level in 62 minutes: http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/4857/KCWIP.gmv I think the gameplay is similar to the NES Startropics games. It feels like a game where almost every aspect is average or better than average, but nothing is truely awesome or terrible. The WIP looks interesting at times and is very well done technically, but the game is quite long, so some people might get bored watching it. Lots of luck manipulation is involved to make the enemies behave nicely and it looks like the player has total control over nearly everything. The full name of the game is "Tougi-Ou: King Colossus" and it's been released only in Japan. Luckily, a very high quality English translation hack exists (but the movie won't work with it, obviously).
