I believe you could do it yourself. Actually, you SHOULD do it because you enjoy the game and it seems that you already know more about it than most of us here. I'm very bad at Risk myself and it would be nice to watch it completed in 3-4 turns.

EME is so cool! It's like making music with some tracker program. I hope that some future version of EME includes the possibility to highlight the rows like in Modplug tracker for example, like this: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/modplugtracker.jpg It would be easier to count the frames if about every 10th row would be coloured differently or highlighted.

I'm sorry for you. I had so much trouble with collecting the coins in that game that I needed something else for a change. Also, I'm not very satisfied because the result will have no suprising erros and planning how to use magic optimally is very painful. Doing Humans is much more entertaining and buggier and I can concentrate on single levels rather than plan a long route through the whole game. I believe you'll be enjoying this movie too. :)

It seems that this is my main project now and may even be finished before the end of the year. I'll edit the first post of this thread every time I update the ninjahumans.gmv. BTW, that levitation bug is not the only one I've found. The final movie will be awesome. :)

Did you know that the humans can levitate in that game? I believe this document shows the first time any human player on Earth has done it: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/humansdiscoverlevitation.gmv

Get the latest movie file here: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/ninjahumans.zip (All 80 levels in ~43 minutes) ROM: Humans, The (U) [!] EDIT: I updated the file. 6 levels are now done. See for yourself. EDIT-2: I started from the beginning and optimized the first 10 levels. It's impossible to beat these times. The file above is updated. EDIT-3: 18 levels are done now. Enjoy the crazy tricks. EDIT-4: The first 18 levels are redone 40 seconds faster! Also, I finally managed to finish level 19 which was the hardest so far. The file above is updated. Any comments would be awesome. EDIT-5: 30 levels done and WIP updated. EDIT-6: 38 levels done and WIP updated. I've been stuck in level 39 for some time now. EDIT-7: 57 levels done, WIP updated. EDIT-8: Secret update. 70 levels done and ninjahumas.zip updated as a backup copy. EDIT-9: All levels done. I still need to add some style here and there. Hopefully the polished version is ready in a few days. This is a secret update too. I bet nobody saw it.

I've got lots of ideas, mostly bad ones. Wonderboy in Monsterworld kept mocking me, so I went to see some (hundreds of) other games. There are many games that I might actually start doing. In any case, don't wait anything from me this year...

Thanks. It seems that others have had the same problem, but their solution is to use some other emulator. No Chaos Engine movie then...

Hey! I might try doing The Chaos Engine, but there seems to be some graphical problem. I don't know how to describe this mess... Here's a screenshot: http://www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/cee.jpg See the horizontal line? I've tried different emulator settings, but the problem remains. ROM: "Chaos Engine, The (E) [!].bin"

What can I say... thanks a lot guys. I really hope to have the possibility to create more (and better) stuff in the future. Improving Gods may be on my list someday, but not yet. I learn new things about time attacking every week, so there's no reason to make 11:39 only to see that 11:35 is possible and so on... And please someone, help poor qbproger with the audio problem! BTW, I haven't downloaded a single AVI myself because I like the smaller files. :)

I kept running towards dead ends in my Genesis projects, so I decided to try some SNES stuff for a change. This game is called Musya and it's said to be a bad Castlevania clone. There are a few things that could be improved, but I'm not going to continue doing this unless someone really really wants to. Here is the file: www.freewebs.com/aqfaq/musya-wip.smv ROM: Musya (U) [!] Emulator: latest Snes9x (I used WIP timing)

Oh, some guy just pointed out that E3M8 riff is actually almost but not quite unlike the opening riff of this song: Stormtroopers of Death - Sargent D and the SOD

Zelda II has no single bad piece of music in it. That's my favorite as a whole. Megaman series has very nice tunes at some stages and Metroid is so very cool also. I wonder what it would feel like to play Metroid with Megaman music or Zelda with Metroid music... I don't like Neskimos or Minibosses because they leave so much detail out of their performance. They have too relaxed attitude. Great musical skill & equipment is required to produce decent cover songs. Oh well, I guess the purpose of remixes and covers is to experiment & have fun rather than make great music in itself. Doom is an example of a game where many tracks are taken from somewhere: http://www.doomworld.com/linguica/doomcovers/ Again, the Doom versions suck and the original ones rule IMHO.

Abuse is a gem because of the excellent aiming system. When you get used to it, it's like 97,6% accuracy in any situation. Because of that, for most good players, Abuse is useless with any other skill level than the hardest. Enemies are evil and numerous. Luckily the hero has save stations and many different dying sounds. I used Dosbox to run Abuse perfectly and the occasional lag was just a good thing... This flash game called N feels somehow like... Abuse. Maybe that's because both games make me sit and try the same tiny level 50 times. Yes, both games offer a long series of short but difficult challenges and a hero who moves like you want it to move. Also, both have all kinds of nasty turrets that shoot at you. And the jump pad has a very similar sound! I've completed about 20 episodes of N and now it really starts to feel good. I felt exactly the same good feeling when I completed 10 first levels of Abuse. I mean horror.

Has anyone heard of Frank Tipler and his Omega Point Theory? The OPT is one of the most fascinating theories (of God) I have ever heard. http://www.math.tulane.edu/~tipler/ The article "From 2100 to the End of Time" (Wired paper) gives a pop overview of the theory. Recommended!

Some guy called Butler said something like: "Everything is what it is and not another thing" Butler's claim is not very informative, but works fine for me. I don't care what people call these movies.

The problem with Warsong is that many scenarios seem to have lots of enemy units and they move pretty slowly even with the highest game speed. A good example is the first scenario where more than 90% of the game time is computer units moving. Even optimal movie would be very boring to watch. Well, actually all I know about the game is from Gamefaqs. I only completed 2 first scenarios a couple of months ago after which I found Battle for Wesnoth and forgot Warsong. So, maybe the later scenarios in Warsong are more interesting than the first two. I don't know.

I searched and found two potentially interesting games that are not mentioned here yet. 1) Warlock 2) The Humans

I was thinking of magic and 4 perfect Doom marines having a deathmatch, but... How exactly would it be possible to produce a movie (no matter who or what produces it) where 4 players try to beat each other? After all, every one of them can use savestates and re-recording! Player-1 would see what others do and react perfectly to that situation. Then the other players would do exactly the same. There would be no single best thing to do because everyone could change their mind at ANY moment. (Have you ever played North & South against your friend so that both have only the cannons left?) Everyone (or a single movie maker) would just load their savestates and change their strategy constantly so that the movie could never get done. Producing a perfect battle between 4 players would be like... practically and theoretically impossible. At least my brain can't handle that kind of socially paradoxical 4-player situation. However, it would be nice to see perfect playing in... any game. NES and SNES games mostly. :)

Long post with no substance? I don't think so. Thanks for your post. Sorry, I have not done anything for the movie since my last post on this topic. I'm away from my own computer for a while and there are some other things to do now. As I said before: this movie is not going to be finished soon. Luckily there are other great submissions to enjoy while waiting. :) Oh, I tried hitting the second statue in the ice palace through the wall... without success.

Yes, because it was a short movie.
