Btw, given that other DOS/Windows games have been TASed, what exactly was the problem with Doom being TASed via emulation? I don't remember anymore.
What about Windows: no mouse support. I'm sure it will be possible to TAS it when Hourglass-Resurrection will be released. Also, i don't know where to get the original game and does it work on Win7, Doom has lots of engines. So, you open any engine (PrBoom, GZDoom, Zandronum, Chocolate Doom etc.) with Hourglass, which automatically opens Doom.wad (or Doom2.wad). I don't know will it work without desyncs, not talking about work stability! What about DOS: also difficult to emulate mouse! You have to read Wolfenstein 3D thread where dwangoAC was writing about the mouse emulation beside the walkthrough. I don't understand what are the details of the problem, but I'm sure it has smth to do with TASing mouse-required games. The problem seems to be difficult as he TASed only 1 map and suddenly stopped. In short, you have to find out.

Has anyone set DooM up in JPC-rr? That'd probably be better for TASing it as far as our community is concerned since that way you get the tools we generally look for.
We can't even TAS Wolfenstein 3D (dwangoAC TASed only 1st map and then stopped). JPC-rr is difficult in work with mouse. On the page of bad game choices (there) the reason of not TASing Doom 32X is "Inferior port. TAS movies already exist for the PC version." Where is the publication of this PC version? Give me the link :-)

WebNations just downloads the movies from TASVideosChannel which he finds entertaining. His also has lots of TASes from speedruns.net and now they are good memories about this site (looks like it's closed or at least not popular anymore). BTW, he copies the link and uses YouTube download services to download movies... and then upload them again in worth quality =) Mirrors archive.org in published movie are SO difficult for him!

I'm in love with Doom too, but, like you, I can't find commands =) The best rerecording emulator programme for Doom is PrBoom+ (using GlBoom+ for avaliable cheats like WallHack), but I got the problem with rerecording/continuing the runs. As we know, it's possible to do a savestate, but impossible to load it while recording the movie. I was trying to contact with other Doom runners to discover which commands do they use to continue the recording if they do a mistake, but no-one explained. Someone was talking about the command "recordfromto", but it just continues the recording from the last frame in the movie. Here is the... general topic about PrBoom+. Good luck! P.S: here are my first tries of making Doom TASes. Each map was started like new game (pistol only) and done in single segment (I decided to TAS the one of my favourite WADS - Freedoom.wad) Map 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZQ_NURwhg-Q Map 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsIKvtL7SsA Map 3 (failed): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-c3JkWmyS5w Map 3 (segmented, used Sony Vegas): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af8FPEJYuKI

Thanks! It works!

How to convert a memory card from real Gamecube to Dolphin memory card (.gci to .raw)? I hadn't found any good converter so far! Dolphin can easily do the opposite operation and no-one seems to want to get a .raw memcard from his .gci :-) This converter is also crappy!

Thank you for nominating me though I wasn't even trying to win any reward on this site! I have lots of explanations about me, my games and other players, but, according to Nach's warning, I shouldn't discuss anything there. Nominating WST, Archanfel and Kiske for great game choices and entertaining runs (excepting Pinocchio).

Ehh, the special stages really didn't feel tool-assisted. I mean, I know there's limited opportunities to show stuff off in what is effectively an autoscroller, but the degree of precision shown is definitely not superhuman. The other stages were okay, I guess, and it's nice to see the unusual attributes of the vs. mode (e.g. the monitors that switch the two players when activated).
Agreed. +1

Здарова народ! Возникло несколько вопросов по поводу Nintendo 64 в Bizhawk (спрашивал в разделе, все походу мимолетные там!): Как делать neutral reset-ы? Что значят кнопки Bind! и Unbind!

Hello everybody! I have some questions about Nintendo 64: How to do neutral reset? What does Bind! and Unbind! buttons in Nintendo 64 Controller configuration - Analog controls? Does it affect the TASing?

I'm just going to assume you're using 1993 version because he used 1994. Heck that is the case, I just got it to sync.
Wow! I didn't guess there are different versions of this game. It isn't a patch, is it? Wait! This game was released in 1994 for Gen. Looks like I'm playing beta.

Probably everyone knows about Tom and Jerry regardless of age. It was one of not many games I used to play on my friend's hardware when his mother allowed me to borrow it for a day before I bought my own Mega Drive. Despite the fact that I have never passed the second level and have never opened the settings to decrease the difficulty, I had only good felling about it! Of course, the only possible genre of this game is a platformer. Lots of enemies try to kill you and you have the timer on each level. You run through levels, keep away from enemies and collect fish/cheese to restore your health (it's not score). Collecting food doesn't affect the time, so AndyD was wrong about keeping away from it. I have done a WIP of first 2 levels. User movie #19021574039808974 Everything is OK with starting input and with 2nd level? Any improves or known glitches? Thanks! AndyD's submission; desyncs on the 1st level, so I can't compare it to my TAS!

I was fooling around with Cheatengine when I found something interesting; the Speedhack can be set to around 0.3 or so on the game you're running, then you can record the video with something like PlayClaw. When played back, the video automatically goes to normal speed! The only tiny thing is the audio won't catch up, so you'll have to put some music over that or something. Here are the fruits of my labor in Minecraft: http://youtu.be/FBlm5lJS2fo
This trick with Cheat Engine probably knows everyone, but audio smashes up. I hate watching speedruns with the music instead of real audio. By the way, 0,25-0,3 is the most confortable speed because there are situations when the game doesn't read you input if you don't hold it for some more time than needed.
