Congrats on finishing the run and shoving 9 minutes off the test-run! I know I have mentioned it in the topic for this game, but I'll ask it again here. Have you considered getting Secret Power? It can work as the substitute for Strength before you get Fly so you can skip the optional trainer in the tunnel. Also, getting the TM of Secret Power unlocks a merchant who sells TM10 (Hidden Power) in Slateport City. Do you think buying the TM and manipulating a Castform with decent water hidden power can save time in double battles?

Another useful trick is duplicating Power Seals at Astur Hill in either Ch.7 or Ch.11. When ever you start a new game after saving and reset, you start the game in a room where you can pick which chapter to go, and NG+ option is always available as well. Since there hasn't been a release for two years and the developers haven't posted anything for a year, it's safe to assume RC7-D is the final release. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/35435204418443453 Here is a WIP I made some time ago. The general idea is to grind enough BP in coliseum to get Green Dream and glitch one of the alternate final boss(either encounter the final boss from original game in Ch.5, or encounter a Lavos phase one reskin in the NG+ exclusive final battle): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsWMRGYwLxc I will have to redo most of it. I was trying to grind some money for Glenn's weapon in Ch.8, but then I realized money cannot be transferred when I restart the game in NG+ so I have to purchase something before resetting and sell it. It might not even be worth it though. Repeating the first 6 fights of Easy mode in coliseum with Magus solo for 10 times will grant enough BP for Green Dream, but a run like this might be too repetitive to get into Moon tier.

Apparently the glyph used in that video is Ignis. I tried the oddity with the save file linked in description of that video on Nico. Link to video I haven't been able to reproduce the early Crab kill without using the input file from Nicovideo, but it seems that the glitch has to do with the phase of this horizontal room. Depending on the time Shanoa enters the room, the glitch either makes certain platform disappears or makes the door on the right appears early. In the input file from Nicovideo, pressing down at right time after entering the room at right time is all you need to make the game think you activated the elevator. AFAIK, pressing down right after pressing L button is the easiest way to trigger the elevator after entering the room at certain frame. That being said, this phenomenon happens because the flame sprites left on the screen before you enter the horizontal room make the game confused about the phase of the room. I thought this glitch have to do with coordinates corruption and can be useful in other places at first so this result is a little disappointing, but this is unarguably a very useful glitch. I also tried this glitch at the beginning of the Boss Rush Course 2. I wasn't able to enter the portal after defeating the first boss so the flame sprites do affect other rooms as well, after all.

Link to video I can't read Japanese so I don't know what happened during the crab fight. Edit: Link to video I guess it has to do with that fire glyph? I wonder if it works in other boss rooms as well.

I was comparing [2296] SNES Super Mario All-Stars: The Lost Levels "warpless, Mario" by KFCMARIO in 34:39.34 and [2419] SNES Super Mario All-Stars: The Lost Levels "warpless, Luigi" by KFCMARIO in 34:52.69, and I realized the Mario one was done on Snes9x and the Luigi one was done on Bizhawk. It's the the lag difference.

https://www.speedrun.com/smbtll#Any_D-4 Luigi is faster than Mario in certain categories for RTA. Why is this not the case in TAS as Luigi seems to be strictly slower than Mario in all circumstances?

I always felt the Ridley and MB fights are the biggest drawback in "low%, Speedbooster" runs so I knew what was coming in this run. It's sad that Speedbooster has to be chosen instead of Ice Beam, but this is an amazing run nonetheless. Yes vote.

£e Nécroyeur, what do think of the suggestions? I've just had a discussion with Moth, and our plan is that I patch in the read+write switch mame-rr is lacking, and if then you (or anyone else) can produce a quality run, MAR support will be added. Rright now, it won't be fair to require macrolua just to use it. Probably, after I add it, you decide to tas this game to the suggested end point, and then it will be a real submission?
Will this be done on r0139 or r0144?

Post it somewhere, repro steps, the exception message and stuff.

It's weird to unlock Zero in an X only run. :P

https://tcrf.net/Donkey_Kong_(Arcade) dkongjo1 (JP Set 3), the very first release of this game has 25m Jump Bug. Link to video I don't know if this saves more time than the glitch in your video does. As a side note, the US version of Donkey Kong Jr. works in a similar way on level order: 1-4 1-2-4 1-3-4 1-2-3-4(Loop) I have tried these two games with fbalpha_libretro.dll on Bizhawk. They run well and save states work. However, the NullReferenceException that pops up every time when the game starts to run makes it impossible to record a movie.

Now Crystal looks as broken as Gen 1 games. Does this glitch work the same on 1.0, 1.1, and JPN versions?

local tabl = {}
tabl = input.get()
if tabl["E"] then
  if (emu.framecount()%2)>0 then
    joypad.set("A")
  end
  if (emu.framecount()%2)<1 then
    joypad.set("B")
  end
end
I wrote this code to make the game press A on odd frames and press B on even frames, but the script doesn't run at all. Which part should I change to make it work?

Another thing about fbalpha_libretro.dll. When I load save states in SVC Chaos(svcpcb.zip), the palettes are messed up. Save states only work before Bizhawk is closed; if I load a save state after reopening Bizhawk, the game freezes. This phenomenon does not happen on RetroArch.

Unlike R/S, the rng of this game is not related to RTC AFAIK, and there is no involvement in time-related event in all published runs so far.

Did you change the settings for Advance Bus-Level Timing, Dynamic Recompiler, and slot 2 cartridge?

Mega Man 2: A lot of the Mega Man runs are starting to feel the same to me right now. While this is a classic run, it doesn't do a WHOLE lot to make it stand out from the rest. I would honestly prefer to see the original game's TAS replace it for the DelayStageClear shenanigans and the Magnet Beam abuse, but it's not a glowing recommendation from me.
How about [871] NES Mega Man 3, 4, 5 & 6 by Baxter & AngerFist in 39:06.92 or [1894] SNES Mega Man X & Mega Man X2 & Mega Man X3 "300%" by agwawaf in 43:51.02? They might be a little outdated at this point though.

[3134] GB Pokémon: Blue and Red Version "Coop Diploma" by MrWint in 3:48:04.10 This is the first one comes to my mind, but I guess it's too long.

Sure, but it allows you to skip an optional trainer with 3 Pokemon.

I've just tested nestopia_libretro.dll with BizHawk. Core is working, thank you for good work. I have a question. Some libretro cores (including nestopia, gambatte, etc.) have individual config, called "core options". User can change NTSC/PAL region, startup RAM init values and other things, like palette. Set of options are individual on different cores. Have you plan to add "core options" support in the future? Libretro support looks unfinished without this. Thank you.
How did you confiure Bizhawk? Every time I load a game with fbalpha_libretro.dll, there is a NullReferenceException, which makes it impossible to record a movie.

Not asking for links, just wondering if anyone has done this. It would be cool if it's possible to play as Shy Guy in Mario Kart DS, even though only two cups are available in the download play game.
