Here's a re-encode of cstrakm's Pokemon Sapphire run, now with caption subtitles: Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cc_u_CZbH5s Megaupload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=28MSOCH2 (~114MB) In other news, GoddessMaria15 and I are still working on the run. We are past Wattson. I'll determine how much of the WIP I would like to show, and then post it later.

Who would have known that Gravity Well is as useless in this run as it was in the any%? Putting Gravity Well aside, Mega Man TASes are known for creative weapon and item usage, and this one is no different. Yes vote.

Megaupload: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=SBPQF5W1 (~100MB) I'll comment on this run later. Edit: 30fps ruined the movie. Removing Youtube.

Forgot to comment. This is much, much, better than the previous submission. There's too much good stuff in this run to go into detail, so I'll just leave it at that. Oh, and Flame Shot rules. Yes vote.

Players whose contributions are only in multi-author publications obviously do not have a stand-alone entry. There is nothing wrong with that, and not having a site account does not change that. If that's what you mean. Or, if you mean the user accounts do not appear when you click "View details", well, they are there; it's just that they only show up if you log in (and have permission to set player detail).

This is a rather amusing game, with all the jokes and everything. Though I feel there are far too many fetch quests here that really didn't need to be in the game. Anyway, it's too bad about the random encounters. I wish they could all have been skipped. Also, the Desert of Death is really long, though there's nothing you could have done about it. Things I liked: - Super Combo - Angel Tower glitch - pretty much anything related to boss battles - ramming the Black Ship Also, special mention for Peco's running animation, and the "Australian dolphin".

Primary savestate (I use this all the time) is key 'W', close to the controls. Secondary savestate is key 'F2' or 'F3'. I only use this when I want to view the part in read mode, or I need to change a part that occurs before the primary savestate. All other savestates (which are on the function keys) are only used to view parts of the run in read mode, or to go back before the secondary savestate. Some of them might be used for other movies on the same game. Usage is approximately exponential to savestate priority. The primary savestate key is the second-most-used TAS key (second to frame advance). The secondary savestate key is used not as much. All other savestate keys for the movie are used rarely, and savestate keys not for the movie almost never see any use, if I haven't even forgotten about them.

One particular difficulty is that game name is a property of a movie. That is, to make a change to one game name entails having to edit every movie with that game name. That is also a big underlying cause of inconsistencies. klmz: Correct. There is no way to work around the sorting problem. Everyone else: I'm thinking about the naming system too. But no system is "correct".

Here's a solution by inversion geometry (circle inversion). Take p4wn3r's image above, extend semicircle AB to a circle, extend diameter AB to a line, and erase C from all existence, just for fun. Now invert with center E (doesn't matter which radius) and you get something like the following: Note: - A maps to A', B to B', D to D'. We don't care what E maps to. E is just E. - The outer circle through A, B, E maps to the inner line through A'B'. The inner circle through D, E maps to the outer line through D'. Both lines are parallel. This is because, in the original, both circles are tangent at E. - The line through AB (through D) maps to the circle through E, A', D', B'. E is on the opposite side of A'B' from D', since the original line has A, D, B in that order. - Furthermore, this circle is special. It is tangent to the outer line at D', since the original line is tangent to the inner circle at D. As well, A'B' is its diameter, since AB is the diameter of the outer circle in the original, and inversion preserves angles (angles formed locally by intersecting curves are preserved). - Finally, the lines through A'E and through D'E are fixed under inversion, so angle A'ED'= angle AED. Now, since the lines are parallel, with one going through the diameter A'B' and the other tangent at D', the arc A'D' must be a 90° arc. Make a point G diametrically opposite D'. Then angle A'GD' must be 45°. So angle A'ED' = 45°. From what was said above, angle AED = angle A'ED' = 45°. I wonder what a solution without inversion geometry looks like. I suppose p4wn3r has one.

Thanks, Scepheo. I made all the changes you listed. I also made the following change: Shinobi III – Return of the Ninja Master -> Shinobi III - Return of the Ninja Master The page that you linked only updates when Ilari runs the update script. I edited the movie names through publication edit.

Here are some changes I made, to make naming consistent: Atlantis No Nazo -> Atlantis no Nazo Donkey Kong Country 2 -> Donkey Kong Country 2 - Diddy's Kong Quest Goldeneye 007 -> GoldenEye 007 Legend of Zelda -> Legend of Zelda, The Lion King -> Lion King, The Olympus no Tatakai -> Battle of Olympus Shinobi 3 - Return of the Ninja Master -> Shinobi III - Return of the Ninja Master Simpsons: Bart Vs the Space Mutants -> Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants Simpsons: Bart Vs. the Space Mutants -> Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants Super Mario RPG -> Super Mario RPG - Legend of the Seven Stars Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island -> Super Mario World 2 - Yoshi's Island Tiny Toon Adventures – Buster's Hidden Treasure -> Tiny Toon Adventures - Buster's Hidden Treasure There may be more changes. But not yet.

I'm not sure why you didn't just do MM 1-8 + Rockman & Forte.
Currently, there is no way for a single file to play NES, SNES, and PSX all at the same time.

After watching this one again, I'd say that while there was every attempt to make it entertaining, it wasn't entertaining enough. It doesn't help that a lot of the moves look the same. I'm leaning towards rejection. Maybe 2-player mode is better?

Well, there are glitches in this game that allow Black to go first, or a player to do consecutive moves, or a pawn to move and capture sideways. I still don't think that is much to base a TAS on. It might be interesting though. Edit: Wiki: GameResources/NES/BattleChess.

Instead of just getting it over with and playing Qe5#, the player toys with the opponent and forces him into one of the most humiliating positions ever. This is a neat submission and it absolutely must be published... ... as a chess composition. As a TAS, it is worthless whatsoever. I agree with p4wn3r; it should be rejected.

Nice run. A lot better than I would have expected. Though, were you going for fastest time? It seems when shooting the boss, you don't shoot all the time.

I've watched this one a couple times. I find it nice that you considered entertainment first, before fastest time, and that the worst character beats the best one. Though I didn't particularly enjoy it one way or another. Not voting.

Game Saisoku now hosts speed deaths. The first and most remarkable (and only) speed death is none other than Mega Man X2 (J version), in 11 seconds. Page: http://saisokugame.blog75.fc2.com/blog-entry-1371.html Nicovideo (account): http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm13773694 Nicovideo (free): http://winback.web.fc2.com/nicovideo/?sm13773694 This run is a work of art. Never mind that it can be improved by a couple seconds using the menu skip trick in the published any% run of MMX2, but I don't think anyone could have seen this run coming, let alone accepted on a compilation blog of runs which, you know, actually beat something. Maybe クリア doesn't mean what I think it means. By placing this run on the blog, Game Saisoku joins Speed Deaths Archive (note the name carefully), and TASVideos.org, if you count submissions, as the only known sites to host speed deaths. P.S. Seriously, I think it's lame. But then again, you could argue that some of the runs there, such all the RPG Tsukuru shortruns and runs using cheat codes or passwords, are equally as lame. Neither the run itself nor its addition to the blog is an April Fools joke. It was uploaded to Nicovideo on Mar. 4 and added to Game Saisoku on Mar. 12. I only came across it today.

I disagree with this property, and think that good joke TAS should not be submitted on April 1st. In fact, it shouldn't even be submitted anywhere near April 1st. I find it strange how TASers clump all "funny" TASes around this date (somehow making it less funny) rather than spreading it around the rest of the year, thus giving other dates the attention that they deserve. P.S. How did you know it wasn't April 1st in the location it was submitted?

This run can't even pass the first Koopas? Pathetic. I was looking forward to the Yoshi coloring too.

I don't even get the point of this game. Is this NES Test ROM in disguise? But at least you could have gone up to Phase 99. Even though that would take another... who knows how long? By the way, Phase 99 is the highest. It keeps saying Phase 99 after that.
