I have to agree with EZGames here that "glitchless" should go to alternative. I think it can never be non-arbitrary for any game even if every single human on earth agree to a given ruleset. And it is also kind of a speed-entertainment trade-off in a TAS setting. It can be the more popular branch while also being alternative.

I'd need more info on this. One of the problematic levels is not beatable even in a TAS?
There is a bug that seems to automatically skip the questions and proceed to the next one in about 5-10 seconds. Regarding the problamatic levels, I have no idea but the last time I tested it, it was still impossible.

Which glitches are considered non-major (and therefore allowed here)?
I have attached a forum post in the submission describing the glitches that are considered major with GIFs: https://www.speedrun.com/pop_sot/guide/6lrg7 Edit: I misunderstood the question. I didn't realize the question is about stuff that is allowed. To repeat from our discord conversation - Whatever glitches the community deemed as "related to gameplay and changes it significantly", are banned. So by extension, whatever else you can do is allowed.

Just tested the June build, the bugs mentioned in that github issue are still present. A TAS probably won't give enough time for the auto-skip to kick in but still better to wait for a bug free build.

I have to ask, why not the full version of the game?

Interesting. You can actually officially submit it now if you make it with ruffle and libTAS. This particular game very recently started working in Ruffle.

The YouTube video doesn't need to be split if you stream the thing over 30 days, lol.

After the last TAS, I genuinely thought this game was dead in terms of finding major skips in this category, even though we found some minor things. Given that, I did not expect an improvement to be so substantial to be possible so soon. One of the main things that contributed to that is the fact that Pankaj is not one to give up. He would try skips that were wrote off as "not possible on GameCube" for days and somehow make it work. Even though I knew exactly what tricks were coming, there were so many spots that took me by surprise when I watched this, giving me the same kind of satisfaction when I watched the first TAS. A completely unbiased yes vote from me.

So excited to see this release in the legit BizHawk one day. (I assume publications aren't permitted with this until then, so I guess it would have to sync with normal Dolphin?)
I already have a pub which was entirely made with this version. But yeah I didn't submit the bk2 directly but rather dumped the dtm and submitted that instead. So far there doesn't seem to any sync issues at all provided the appropriate dolphin version is used.

Great, but I would like to inform you that this is not a progress update thread.

is there any way i can safely get an ntsc version of this rom?
Sure thing. Google "how to dump NES rom". You will need some hardware and find instructions to extract the game from your NTSC cartridge!

I think a dumb way of putting this would be that the run is "true ending" but not "true starting"
